I like the idea of getting the last year of the 4th gen but am surprised at how few of them are for sale. In my area, there are 3-4x as many 2008's than 2009's. Which makes me wonder, did Toyota make fewer of this model year?

I think it was because of the tsunami.
I usually trade my vehicles in every 4 yrs. Not this SUV. I have an 09 and will keep it for alot longer than 4 yrs. Looks like there will be one less on the market for a long time:flipoff:

Not sure if it was the Tsunami or if it was just because it was the last year of that particular model and they brought out the 2010 earlier but yes, way fewer 2009's than any other year model of 4th gen 4Runner. There were also about half as many 2008's as there were 2007's according to wikipedia.
