2010 Fabric vs. Sport Fabric

Okay, so I've tried to find pictures to help but with no luck.
Could someone tell me, or even better show me the difference between the fabric interior and the sport fabric? It sounds like it'd be less susceptible to spills (expecting my first kid soon) but I know they have the waterproof fabric in the TE. The leather looks really nice, but with the options I want, it pushes the price to the high end of my spending range.
FYI, I won't be getting my new car until the end of the year or early next. I'm looking that the 4Runner and Outback primarily, but have also checked out the XTerra and Honda Pilot.

XTerra - looked at that - no comparison to the 4Runner (IMHO)

This is the "sport" fabric.

The only difference is the fabric in the center section, I believe. I'm having a terrible time finding a pic of the non-sport fabric.

Yep, that's the picture I found. I imagine the regular fabric is like that of any other car. I guess I'm mostly wondering whether the sport fabric is more liquid repellant than regular fabric.
As far as the XTerra, the thing that's really turned me off of it is that it has only 5 more cubic feet than my current car ('06 Outback Sport) so I can't really justify a new car for only 5 more feet. Everything I've seen says the new 4Runner is far more rugged than the XTerra, but I don't plan on doing any hardcore off-roading with rock crawling, etc.

did anyone else get that fabric protection liquid with their 4runner? I just found it in my glove box and theres really no instructions on it. Do you just wipe it onto the seats? How often?

Here ya go. Regular fabric. I had a dealer tell me that the fabric is the same just the seat design is different on the sport seat.

I have a 2007 Sport with stock fabric seats.

After driving with fabric seats over 65k miles, I highly recommend you consider adding Leather at the time of your purchase.

I don't see anything in the 2010 Trail fabric seats that would convince me otherwise.

Is this referring to something in particular? I bought a 2010 sr5 about 11k miles ago, and loved the fabric, but now the fabric in the driver's seat where i sit is getting "fuzzy". Seemed pretty early to me for the fabric to look so worn.

Would appreciate anyone chiming in here. If there's some seat cover I need, point me in the right direction.

If I remember correctly, the sport seats have the same side-bolsters and physical construction as the Trail water resistent seats and Leather seats. So in all there are 4 different seat options. I'm not sure about the varying degrees of cloth quality-feel, if any.

Having 4 different seats in 3 different trim lines is just just silly in my opinion and has potential cost savings written all over it. The only two options should be water resistent and leather, even if there is a slightly increased cost which the majority of you (and eventually me) are paying for.


Separately, having 2 different 4WD systems, as well as one varient (w/ locking rear-differential) in the same vehicle doesn't make much sense either. I guess from what I've studied up on Toyota's 4WD systems, ultimately they are like modular building blocks each with unique advantages and disadvantages. Sorry for getting off track....
