2010 fan blower motor LOUD

Stock blower is starting to get progressively louder. There’s no debris in there, it’s just old (200,000miles).

Where to get a quality new one? Dealer?

from what i gather.. the non OEM ones dont blow nearly as strong or arent as efficient as OEM.. try a junk yard? there's gotta be some newer wrecked 4runner that you can pull from
 
Can you adjust the blower speed? If it is always on high, it will sound loud. If so, you have a problem with the resister bank for the blower speed and the motor may not be the problem.
 
I just replaced mine with Toyota OEM one because mine was loud at 48,000 miles. I paid around $100 from Partznet.com and installed it in 10 minutes (super easy 3 screw installation).
 
My OEM replacement blows like a gentle fairy, I want to find an aftermarket replacement that blows harder
 
If it’s not working right, it’s probably on its way out. I already replaced mine at 60,000 miles with a new one. I really had no explanation why it went out so soon except that I was doing a lot of winter driving with the blower motor working overtime to hit the windshield and foot wells.

I would also look through the filter to make sure it’s not plugged up, or if you don’t care about crud, just pull the filter.

I don’t think there is enough price difference between OEM and aftermarket/rebuilt to take a chance with such an important part, especially if you live someplace where it’s really hot or really cold.

The fan blows okay, it’s just loud to the point that passengers are asking about it.

I’ll check out Partsnet for OEM and see what’s up. I was just curious if there was a decent aftermarket one that was better.

Anyone try to lube the bushing? Guess I’ll pull mine this weekend and take a closer look.
Seems they go bad prematurely due to condensation rusting the shaft. Maybe turning off the AC before parking actually does help.

Parts.Toyota.com might be a better deal at this time with the free shipping offer. Takes a little time to find a dealer near you with the best price.

all that will do is blow air over the coil and put that moisture right back into the air, same reason it increases humidity if you do it on your house AC
 
Has anyone found pic or vid on how to disassemble the blower unit?
I took mine out yesterday and cleaned it up a bit. Had a fine layer of grease and dust but nothing too bad.
No obvious way to get to the bushings to oil them so I left it alone.
I assume you need to pull the hamster wheel.

It would be nice to just replace the bearing. Need a part number.
