2010 Limited with nerf bars or without?

Okay just installed a set of Steelcraft 3" nerf bars. Now I'm on the fence. Not sure if I like it stock or with the bars. Please note I will be blacking out all the chrome as well as powder coating the wheels black in the next couple of months.

Opinions please...

To each their own, but I dont understand putting nerf bars on a LMTD while leavign the stock rockers in place. You got 9 inches of ground clearance and you reduce that to near sedan levels by adding nerf bars below the rocker panels. I installed Shrockworks Rockrails on mine and will be installing the painted TE rocker panels and front fender flares this coming weekend.

I'll be curious to see how your wheels turn out thought. Good luck with the progress of your project!

Believe it or not I actually bought them for a purpose and not just to make my truck look pretty or ugly (depending who u ask). I need the extra step so when I go snowboarding in the winter I can sit my butt down on the seat and put my dirty disgusting feet outside on the bar while changing and in the summer when at the beach I can do the same and not get sand in the car. Plus my parents use it to travel and the bars help my mom get in and out. On a side note mine is not a 4x4 so I will never take it off roading.

My SR5 came with the factory running boards. They are not very useful. I was thinking about replacing them with sliders. But, now I'm considering just removing the boards and giving them to my cousin, who just bought a 2wd 4runner.

The only thing I like about the running boards is they protect the rockers from road debris. I do limited off roading so ground clearance is not a huge issue.

In your application, I agree with the above post. The nurd bars don't look right on your limited. The good thing is...you can easily bolt up things like this and see how they look.

I say if you need them keep them, if you don't get rid of them. I have them on my truck cause I need them to get in but in the 4Runner I don't and I'm not a big fan of the looks function over fashion though...
