Better get one soon. Word on the street is Nissan is pulling the plug on the V8 option, just like Toyota.
I had an 08 v6. I hated that car and could not wait to get rid of it. Lucky for me my wife drove it daily but we took it on some trips. The car is horrible on the interstate. Twitchy steering with soft wobbly suspension. Drives like a minivan and feels huge like driving a bus. I traded it for more than I paid for it new.

Wow, they must've really gouged you on the new vehicle. Otherwise, there's no way a trade-in would be worth more than it sold when new.
I don't think so. I bought the Pathfinder at the height of gas prices and the Nissan dealers were selling base 08's for $14,900 in FL. Main reason I bought it. Got $18,000 for trade. It only had 6,000 miles on it. The car I bought instead was used so I don't know what they paid for it but I paid going rate in my area for the car. 2005 Crossfire roadster with 14k miles. In perfect condition. Wife drives that daily.

The new Pathfinders are too much of glorified oversized station wagons to me(of course I think 4wd is there for a reason on trucks and suvs and prefer to be able to use it as such when I can). Drove a newer one (not a 2010 but the from same style) not enough of a 'truck' for me honestly, and I'[m a Nissan guy. I'll stick with my old ride-like-a-brick little suvs. Who needs a warranty when there are plenty in the local yards with good parts.

Well, if you traded it on a used car, there's no way to know for sure if you got gouged or not. But I still say that if you purchased a brand new Pathfinder for $14,900 and sold it 6,000 miles for $18,000, then the dealer had to make up the difference somewhere else, which basically means they made the difference up on the car they sold to you. Pathfinders do not have a magical ability to appreciate as they get older. Your $18,000 trade-in value was far too much, so believe me when I say the dealer made it up on the car they sold to you. If I'm wrong, then that dealer will be going out of business soon, if it's not already out of business.

Nahhh i'm not looking for a race. I just wanted something i can drive against those Ford 150 or 250 V-8 or V-10 on snowpacked paved roads to work. Hope the new 2010 Pathfinder LE V8 310hp will surpass my 235hp 4Runner V8. lol But I'll keep my 4Runner and soup it up for Off-Road adventure, camping and towing.

Before you pull the trigger on a Pathfinder, you should do a little research on their 4wd system. I only say that because I've heard it really sucks. I think it's just open diffs front and rear. And of course that's not good if you'll be driving in the snow.
Ive also heard this, and I didnt like it when I test drove it either. One of my buddies had one and always said he should have gotten a 4R because it was much more capable. Id rather get an Xterra than a Poopfinder, but thats just me.
Im sure they made the difference on the used car I bought but trade value was more than I paid for the Nissan new. That was a great deal I got on the Nissan thanks to $4 a gallon gas. I had been searching for a crossfire for quite a while. I paid going price for my area for it and maybe slightly more but it was the cleanest, lowest mileage one I had come across. My friends thought it was brand new. I had to tell them they don't make them anymore.
The Nissan was a nice suv but it was incredibly boring to drive and very wobbly at freeway speeds. At 80 mph on the interstate there is no way that car could do any emergency avoidance manuevers with out ending up on its roof. In comparison to the 4R they are not even in the same league. Thats comparing my 03 Toyota v8 to a 2008 Pathfinder.
I'm very anxious to drive the 5th gen 4r and praying it doesn't ride anything like the nissan and I will hold out for the 4.6 v8 before I buy one. I do think it will find it's way into the 5th gen runner. Just my 2 cents on a comparison between the 2 and the v8 coming to the 5th gen.
