had a blast this year!!!
we got back into the bay area at about 11 last night after many stops along the way.
we arrived on friday afternoon about 2pm, left at 7am but when a caravan is involved there are many stops to be made!
last year we were set up a but to close to the "action" with trucks driving fast past our campsite everynight so we decided to set up the compound near the beach and it was our best spot yet! total we had 3 trucks with us, a 89 sas 4runner, and jeep wrangler and my truck.
all and all we had a great time all of us, met lots of new people and saw lots of familiar faces, we enjoyed the nights by far above any other part of the weekend!
as for carnage in our group we had: a bent front axle on my buddy's 1st gen when he nose dived off a dune and also his rack broke off (which we were able to fix the next day) and i blew a bead while horsing around and doing donuts :shocked::shocked: the blown bead was actually quite simple to fix and it was a good amount of training for myself.
the Oceano dunes is by far a amazing place, its a incredible feeling to post up camp right by the beach with your truck and be able to drive it everywhere and not once did i get stuck so im very happy with that - all it takes is some finessing of the gas pedal and not gunning it to break free
