What are you trying to do? By "update" I thought you wanted a newer map disc (more detailed street coverage). Using the display to play videos from an external source, etc.? Being able to use the nav in motion?

Oh ok, I see. If Eclipse wasn't exiting the aftermarket business, they would be my #1 pick for an aftermarket navigation headunit for Toyotas and Scions. (I think you can probably still find Eclipse units available with dealers.) With Eclipse gone, I would go with Pioneer or Alpine. I haven't researched either brand's offerings recently. I considered aftermarket nav in the event my dealer couldn't get me what I wanted on my '06.

HB4x4 started a thread between Pioneer and Kenwood navigations. Take a look there and see what other members are suggesting.

Good luck.

you could ... possibly

but... as i posted in another thread earlier, the Limited nav costs $4600 and installation is $150. i found this out when i called the parts dept and asked them.

instead, i plan on getting the Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT for $1399.

i found it online for around 900 dollars and i think with the Metra Electronics 99-8227S
Dash Kit for: Toyota 4 Runner 2010 it should work just fine. As soon as I get mine ( end of march) I will try it.

I'm sorry. You found what online for $900? are you referring to the toyota stock nav or the Pioneer z110bt?

Also, there is a website that offers the 2010 dash kit for $30.00. I don't remember the website off the top of my head, but its in the 5th Gen Forum. I'll post it here if I run into it...

Paid for the Pioneer z110bt today. Just have to wait for Metra to release the Dash Kit which I was told an ETA of 30-90 days and then I can get it installed. Can't wait!

getting installed right now as i type!!

the only thing is that the metra dash kit STILL is not out yet, so i'll have a big gaping hole surrounding the nav until the kit comes out, but oh well... i'll fabricate something in the meantime....

this is the unit installed in an audi

Does anyone know to turn of the red dots, or the "foot prints" on the navigation screen that mark where you have driven? I've tried everything and I cant get rid of them....drives me crazy.

way to resurect an old thread. sirius isnt going to have tha adaptor you need there are parts from pac audio or i simple vais etc youl need the adaptor that goes between the factory radio and the siius xm tuner, the parts that you get from sirius are the adaptor cables to make there tuner work with the big name aftermarket radios like pioneer sony etc.
