2010 Trail lift

I'm confused with the options to lift my 4Runner. I've been told that putting on new shocks and springs for a lift will not add any articulation increase. That modified lower arms is the only way to do this. So other than firmer springs and shocks, might as well just put in spacers. Also, relocating the spare is a must.
Does anybody sell a rack that incorporates a tire mounting? Thanks

There are quite a few options for your 5th gen. Search for "Harper7" on this thread and on toyota120.com. Read up on his thread and it will answer a lot of your questions.

Do you have KDSS??

If Yes, then your kinda stuck with the stock amount of travel, any extra might put extra stress on the KDSS pistons.

If No, then you can get Extended Travel Coilovers for the front and longer rear shocks and you will get more travel, To get more articulation without the KDSS system, you can always remove your swaybars. Did that in my 2008 Tacoma, made a world of difference.

I posted some info in another post you can check out...http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/71964-trail-kdss-flex.html
