2011 4R makes thumping noise in front, more noticeable when braking or going slow, sounds like right side. Had similar problem 18 months ago and turned out to be left front wheel bearing. Took dealer two full days to diagnose problem, they checked everything and could not isolate problem. Ended up installing wireless microphones at each corner of vehicle and isolated to left front wheel.
This time noise goes away when 4WD is engaged and returns when disengaged, could the auto hubs be the problem ? I have Platinum Toyota warranty until 2018
so I will let dealer figure out again. Just had brand new Michelins installed less than 1000 mi ago and state inspection by same Toyota dealer. Any Ideas ?
