2011 4Runner rough upshift from first to second

my 2011 4runner developed a shutter between first and second gear with around 8,000 miles on it and it continued to worsen and the frequency of occurances increased until around 9500 miles. At that point the Toyota dealer reset the computer before flushing the transmission and finally elected to replace the transmission reusing the original torqe converter at the direction of Toyota engineers. The truck now has 13,000 miles on it and there continues to be a shutter when upshifting from first to second gear (4WD, SR5, automatic trans.). The shutter is very prominant under light to moderate acceleration from a stop or very slow roll. I have also experienced very rough downshifts into first gear after coming to a complete stop at a light or sign since the transmission was replaced. I am now waiting on an inspection of the truck by a Toyota regional representative. Any advice/experience with this?

Not a concern I'VE seen yet.
Lots of things it COULD be, but if you're going to have an FTS or product engineer looking at it, that's most likely how it's going to be fixed.

They kept the original TC? Most shudders are from bad clutches or TC. FAIL.

i bought a 2011 toyota 4runner about 2 months ago. mine is doing the same thing that you described. did they fix yours and if so what did they do? mine will only do it if i go over a dip or a speed bump. im taking it to the dealer tomorrow. thanks for your help!
