2011 4Runner SR5 w/ 105k for $21,000, good deal?

What's going everyone? I recently went to the dealership to check out a 5th gen 4Runner. It's a 2011 with 105k and they wanted $23k. I walked out and told them I would keep my 4th gen, and pass on the sale.

A week later they have went down to $20,850.

It is a 2 owner vehicle, and Carfax shows some routine maintenance records. It's been in the Northwest so I'm not worried about rust, but am hoping no other big issues.

What do you guys think and what have some of you paid for yours?

No way. I’d offer $18,000.

Thinking SR5 4x4 are low 30s new so 7 years old and 100k miles and paying 65% of value - I don't think its worth it, while these things last forever they seem to hold a linear depreciation curve even though the miles from 100-200k should be cheaper then the miles from 0-100k. But that is 4runners , Tacomas and FJ's for you

*Edit I was recently looking at Tacomas and 4runner as a potential replacement for the wife's car and IF you are planning to modify them by far the best value is picking up someones from a forum that has been tastefully modded to your liking, not abused and well maintained they are normally getting 25% of the mod cost back AT BEST which if you have sunk 5-10k into it can be a substantial savings for you. The main downside is you have to wait and find one that you like and the owner is not asking way to much for.

Everyday they tell me they can't go lower, and then what do ya know a lower price. $18,000 sounds more like it.

There's a 2013 Trail Edition with 98K on it for $21K in my hometown and that's at a dealer so I know there is room to move on it. I wouldn't pay anywhere near $21K for the one you mentioned.

When I was trading in my 14 lifted runner w/ 59K miles all dealerships offered only 20K I traded in for 25 at a dealership in the mountains. So I am sure at 18K they are making money still.

At a dealership that sounds about right.... If you are going to dealers because you need financing consider going to a credit union for financing (probably the same rates or better) and buy directly from an owner/private party. If you look at pricing you'll notice 100k miles drastically effects pricing, not that it means much on a 4runner but in terms of market value it does. If I was paying 20k for a 2011 I'd expect 50k miles or something ridiculously low on an SR5.

Passing on it and keeping the 03. Going to wait and get lower mileage down the road.

I got my 2011 SR5 a couple months ago with 89k and it was around $20k. When the bank checked KBB it showed it at around $21k but I think they thought it was the Limited. Hope that helps.
