2011 SR5: Remove bumper mounting bolts

Started attempt at installing new bull bar on my 2011 SR5. Apparently I can't remove the front bumper mounting bolts without some super human strength. I only have some basic tools, so I'd appreciate any suggestions on how I can get these damn things off to continue my install.

When you say the front bumper mounting bolts, I am assuming you mean the inner bumper, not the front fascia.

They are a pain, an impact wrench might make it easier, but you run the risk of stripping the bolts. You can also try to loosen it up with lube.

If you find the socket wrench slipping off, attach it more firmly to the bolt using a hammer and pull with all your might. I sat on my butt with my feet up on the frame and the various mounts to keep me from moving and just put muscle/back into it. Its possible, but man are they on tight!

Correct the inner one's, where there are 3 to each side...

I was using my socket wrench and the only thing I think I might have accomplished was round the edges of one of the bolts -- ARGH! I did spray it with some WD40. I'll let it sit on there overnight now..

Long box end wrench for leverage and cheater bar if needed. You don't want to round them off or it will be a real pain. They are tight!
