2011 Tacoma springs

2011 Tacoma springs/shocks on 98 4r

I have a 98 4r and was wondering if I am able to use springs/shocks for the front off of a 2011 tacoma trd and will the rear shocks work as well? Will the tacoma springs and shocks give me any lift? Thanks I am new here but have been lurking for a few months now since I have newly acquired my 4r. I did not know these things are this much fun. I am glad I have it and intend on keeping it for a long time. Even the wife likes it...mama is happy everyone is happy!
I also have access to the upper control arms as well if I need those for the swap.

I haven't heard of anyone doing this. The likelyhood of this working would be slight. Do you have any measurements of the parts you're trying to put on?

I don't have any measurements. I just found a set of fronts with struts/springs and rear shocks for a smoking deal. They are from a trd so they are Bilstein I suppose since they are yellow with blue boots.

Man that is a buzz kill!!! I was getting excited here thinking I found something great for it. I am in the hunt since I need new shocks I might as well get a little lift out of the deal if possible. I am running 265/70/17 and the tires look a little bit so a lift would look nice with it.

Supposedly fjcruiser springs will work for about 2" of lift. However, I only read about one guy going that route so it's not 100% certain that will work either.

For whatever reason, I was thinking of a 5th gen 4runner earlier when I gave you a glimmer of hope. It has been attempted here and no it will not work. I'm not sure if the front springs are a different diameter so they may be able to be used but the shocks are definitely too long.

The shocks are the main part that will not work. They are much too long. The springs MAY work but IMHO, they aren't worth trying. Not gonna be much lift if any and there are better options.

But would the shocks work if I got other springs? The only reason I am asking is that I can pick the shocks/struts up for less then $100 and they are basically brand new.
