Hey guys, My 2011 TE was driving great yesterday. Today it has some serious issues. There is a very bad shudder, I think transmission, and at the same time - the multi terrain select generated errors and was disabled. (this is probably just a symptom of the dependency the software has on the tranny operating normally.)
Symptoms are.
Going up a steep hill to my house, You put the power on, At 2500 rpm the tranny tries to shift up and shuddering occurs. It seems the tranny won't let the motor get over 2500 rpm. Best i can tell the engine is running fine - the power loss is happening in the tranny.
At low speed there is a constant shudder.
In Park at idle, the engine is ticking over just fine - but there is a shudder / lurch, as if the tranny is partially engaging.
There are many transmission issues I've read about on the 4r. But it doesn't seem as if new fluid is the answer. It seems more serious than just the torque convertor? I'm guessing the transmission itself is the issue and will need replacing.
