2011 Tundra... Questions / forum recommendation

My dad is about to buy a 2011 Tundra. Any thoughts on a good forum or does anyone here have any insight on prices paid, any general issues with them, etc...

He is going all out on this one.

5.7 V8 CrewMax Limited 4x4 with Navigation are the necessities beyond that it would be nice to have TRD and a sunroof but not required.

USAA has the price at $39,000 (Unbelievable considering I paid 31k for my 4Runner)

What are your thoughts?

That's a fully loaded Tundra? I would think they would be more than that.

I really like the Tundra. Big engine and good looks. Throw and tires on and you're set.

I couldn't believe it when I saw the price... its like 7K under sticker price.

Anyone have any real world experience on price or issues with the truck?

My dad has an 08. I don't recall what he paid, especially since he traded in his Ram, but it definitely wasn't that much. It was definitely under $30k though.

It sounds like your dad wants more w/his than what mine got. The tundra has the TRD package, and that is really it; no sunroof (he regrets that one), no steering wheel controls, etc. He LOVES the thing regardless, he goes racing little ricers on the highway while commuting from work; it is hilarious. He drives it not much different on back roads and the thing lets him abuse it no problem; the truck's got balls. It's nice to drive as well. Makes me hate my 4runner and how slow it is. He gets bad gas mileage (obviously) which is his only complaint. I hope the inside is nicer on a loaded one also. The Tundra, IMO, is the best looking pick up out there next to the Ram and maybe Ford SVT Raptor.

With gas prices climbing, would your dad consider a diesel truck?? Chevy or Ford makes great diesel trucks. It is more expensive, but it seems like your dad is willing to spend. Diesel prices have not spiked up as much as gas...but diesel engines also get better mileage. And of course, diesel = monster torque...and longevity.

Favorite for me: Chevy/GMC Duramax + Allison tranny + fully boxed frame = PERFECTION!
