2012 4Runner Limited (Downsizing wheels/better tires)

Hi,

I'm new to this forum but what other better place to ask 4Runner questions.

So, I have a 2012 Toyota 4runner Limited and thinking in downsizing to 17's TRD wheels. I also visited my local tire shop "America's tire" and purchased 4 new "Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac 265/70-17 115s. I went with these tires and wheels because I wanted a beefy look and going to start off roading more and heard these were great tires for the snow too.

However, can any of you help me by answering the following questions:

1. I know these wheels will fit, but are they going to cause any issues with the differential/mileage? (I was told about the differential by a friend but don't know how much I believe this).

2. Can I go with 275/70-17 instead of 265/70-17? I don't plan in modifying the suspension at all(raising it) so if I go with 275/70-17 will rub? The current suspension it's all stock.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Downsizing tires but not wheels?

TireRack recommends narrower profile for winter tires. The 06 SR5 has 265/65/17. By my calculations, a 245/70 should have the same height (about 172mm) but a narrower tread (20mm, almost an inch narrower). Has anyone done this kind of swap?
