All that power with 28 mph on the highway...not bad!! The problem is that it is FWD...but, some reports say that it has a LSD in the front along with a trick "HiPerStrut system" to reduce torque steer.

Not a bad looking car from The General.

A little Mazda-ish in the front, G37/Altima on the side and Hyundai rear with Lexus LS tailpipes.

The wheels are the best part!
 
I'd drive one. Not bad looking with a good amount of power! Put a small V8 or turbocharger/supercharged V6 and im sold!! Id drive it till i was 70, so it would be normal!

It already has close to 300 hp...anymore and you're looking at bad torque steer (if not already!). In addition, in today's worlds, manufacturers are looking at compromises...such as 300 hp and 28 mpg. With a SC V6 or V8, you won't get this compromise.

As much as i like it, i just don't trust The General in terms of quality. Caddy has been decent in quality, but my colleague's Caddy CTS has had quality control issues (nothing major, but annoying!). I think that i will stick around to see how Ford/Lincoln respond. Along with Toyota/Lexus, Acura/Honda, i trust Ford/Lincoln. The General (along with Chrysler, Hyundai/Kia) are just too unknown at this time. Nissan/Infinity, for me, is somewhere b/w toyota and the General in having my trust.

Price is kinda high. You can get a decent Infinity G37 at that price, which is about 1 second faster 0-60, RWD, and almost same fuel economy. I think that this car would be great in the $28-33k range.
 
I would get the G37 over the Regal any day, even if the G was a few G's more. No pun intended. The G is RWD, big points there.

IMO, Infiniti has a better image and reputation than Buick. When I think of Buick, I think of the Roadmaster stationwagon and being in grandpa's car. :lookout: Even if Buick had their equivalent of a CTS-V, that stigma will still take a while shake off.

Same here. I am just waiting for Lincoln to make a RWD sedan again with Mustang's engines (V6 and V8)...that would kick serious butt!!

I agree, styling is gorgeous, at least in pictures. Despite FWD, the slalom speed is impressive for a luxury sporty sedan. I wish that it had some sort of LSD or torque-vectoring differential (as seen in the lowly Ford Focus and as expensive as Audis)...that should make it even more impressive.

The main problem with this car is not the numbers IMO...it is the price tag. For that much money, there are competitors out there that are just as good or better. I would pick this over an Acura TSX IF this was within TSX price range...but it is not. :( As it is now, price is around $37,500 without navigation/sunroof...that is way too expensive IMO.

why do all the manufacturers try to copy infiniti by calling their sedan some g?
first there was the infiniti g20, then lexus came out with the gx and gs, then you have the pontiac g5 and g8, now buick with gs?
car looks nice, but give it a rest calling the car a g

no, but everyone trying to copy the g, you have to admit. I/we do also have a g incase u wanna know, and its surely a blast to drive. I dont worship any car manufacturer, lexus or nissan. each has its pluses and minuses.

You are serious, aren't you?! Really?! :snacker: Did your G friends pull a dare on you to post this??? :D

So, people are copying Infiniti ONLY because they are using the LETTER G somewhere in the name of the vehicle??? Yeah, i don't think that Infiniti has a patent over that letter in the alphabet!

But, WAIT, Infiniti copied Mercedes...because surely, Mercedes G-wagen came way before Infiniti was ever a wet dream of Nissan CEO!

Not sure where to start here...there is nothing alike among the vehicles you mentioned. Lexus GS is in a higher class than the current G37...and is nothing like the original G20, which was a cheap lux'ed up FWD Nissan Sentra (i think). Lexus GX is a SUV, just in case you forgot what vehicle you're driving currently (and hating on). Pontiac Gs were cheap FWD vehicles, based on something horrific from GM. Buick GS is just the "grand sport" version of the Regal. BTW, "GS" usually means Grand Sport...so, there is actually a meaning behind the lettering from Lexus and Buick. If the only thing Infiniti can come up with against its competitors is the useage of that one particular letter in the alphabet, then i think that the patent office is safe at the moment....
