2013 Corolla in a 97 4Runner NAV accuracy issue

I tapped into the VSS at my ECU. And I'm connected to the pink wire of the 28 pin connector on the back of the radio which should be the VSS input.

The NAV is far from accurate. I'm around 1 mile infront of intersections I pass on the display and at times it has me on roads I've gone by and not turned onto. The compass seems messed up too at times.

Any ideas? I've verified the connection with my DVM and it's a good connection to the as wire but the NAV unit acts like it's not there at all.

I'm wondering if all I need is a speed corrector module since my tires are bigger than a Corollas?

Edit: looks like a Dakota Digital SHI-5E will work. Do I want to spend 80 dollars on it is the question.

If you disconnect the speed wire does it act any different? Where is the nav antenna?

Yea, I'm hooked to the VSS coming from the speed sensor. Which I've found out that isn't connected from the factory. So I need to connect it to the speed input coming from the ABS module.

Hopefully tomorrow.

Then I'll use the one diagnostic screen to see how off the mph is from actual.

I hooked the VSS input to the Green with orange (E12 connector pin 12) and now have a speed indication on the diagnostic screen. Believe it or not it's only off 1-2 Kilometers per hour.

I'm not able to select mph for the diagnostic screen. But since it's almost half mph I think I'm good.

There must be a standard at Toyota. In that there are so many pulses at say 60mph and as long as you have the stock tire size your good. Like 2000 pulses per mile no matter the tire size the speed input is always the same 2000 pulses per mile.
