of course man, nothing is stopping us. Subscribe to the Tacomaworld Moab thread because that one gets a lot more updates.

Yup unfortunately I'm out. I never got my raise and I can't afford the trip or the prep. Both my step dad and friend bailed, so that doesn't help and Jerry (BAMF) might not be going since his build isn't done. I just couldn't afford the repairs and extras I needed as well. So I'm substituting the trip with a mini weekend trip instead. I'm bummed I won't be hanging out with you guys, but I will absolutely be there next year.

Still in. In fact I was out in the garage building a few things in preparation for the trip... lots of 3/16" steel, some tubing, and some exhaust pipe will be getting cut up and welded in the coming weeks.

Looks like all im gonna get done before moab is new rear upper links.. again.
Might change out some burnt out LEDs if I feel like it too.

I'm cooking up a set of skidplates... Front and Belly. I've got enough steel for a gas tank skid too, but we'll see if I've got enough time to get that done. The front is almost complete, just a few more touches, and the belly skid will be cake.
I'm also building a new tail section for my exhaust that dumps right behind the axle, so I don't smash my fancy TRD tip on a rock. Once I'm back from the trip I can just remove the short tail section and re-install the TRD pipe. The truck sounds alot different without the resonator that's built into the TRD pipe.
Gotta figure out a solution for better tranny cooling... either go inline w/the radiator cooler just for the trip, or add a second external cooler. Not sure yet. I'll be putting some "water wetter" in the radiator as well, perhaps do a flush too so I can get a cooler thermostat in there.
Oh yeah, and a CB... gotta get a CB.

If you go with the second cooler get one with an electric fan. I am running inline ATM and it worked fine with some long steep climbs

Negative, ghost rider. No fan B.S. for me.
I've been tracking temps with a dedicated guage AND a scanguage for about 2 years. I'm running just a TRD external cooler right now, radiator bypassed, and I can barely get my trans temps above 150 on hot days, now that I have the IPT valve body (which increases line pressure/flow rate).
The highest I've ever been able to get it was ~230 and that was climbing STEEP mountain passes in CO (think 7000 feet to 11000 feet over a few miles), fully loaded with 500-600 lbs of gear and dogs, a full tank of gas, and my Wife and I. I ran into temps like that at 12,800 feet just below California Pass as well, which is about a 15% grade. That was all before the IPT VB.
With two external coolers, I'm sure I'll stay plenty cool, no fan necessary. I'm actually concerned that I'll end up TOO cool during the cooler months of the year.
The only reason I'm considering going back through the radiator is because Jim had really good results doing so on his rig, and I'll be covered for both hot and cold seasons.

That is fair enough honestly. I don't see why people freak about the radiator. Replace every 100k and should be good lol
If you ran two inline then I think your right it would get too cold. The radiator also warms up the fluid in the winter.
My vote goes to the radiator+cooler

Don't know if I'm more excited for graduation or going to Moab for my first time.. Going to be lifted 3 inches on 33s, do you guys think this will be sufficient for most of the trails? Any things I should consider getting before the trip?
Still need to get a cb radio too.. What all do I need to get and where do you guys recommend I get it??

Definitely get the CB, either handheld radio or an in cab, doesnt matter.
I would recommend a high clearance front bumper and a strong rear bumper or at least a trailer hitch. It will take a LOT of hits in those two spots. Sliders after that if you can afford it.
