2014 4Runner Stuck In Drive & Reverse

This morning I put my truck into drive and it didn't want to move so I gave it a little gas and I heard a loud "pop" then everything was fine and it drives like normal. 4Runner has 22218 miles on it and no the parking brake was not engaged. Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be?

Since you mentioned that I did wash the 4Runner and parked it in the garage I also noticed that when I wash it the rotors do get rusted right away Hmmm... I hope it was that.

LOL! I am glad it was him and not my silver bullet! "Update" I took her out this morning and she worked like a charm so I think Hearno was right.

He was right. I always take the truck for a short drive after washing it - especially after washing underneath to get mud/dirt out off the inside of the wheels and out of the brake assemblies.

Incidentally: It's very common to think that you have a bent wheel or have lost a wheel balance weight after off roading. It's almost always mud caked on the inside of the wheel rim. Crawl underneath with the hose and spray the inside of the wheels on the opposite side of the truck and watch the mud running down the street. Then drive it a mile or so to dry off the rotors and pads.

100% agree after washing it.. Happens to me every single time. Sounds like the drivetrain falling out
