2014 Details and Pics from FJ Summit

So i took some pics and looked for some changes in the 2014 4Runner. Here is what I came up with. FYI, I have a 2013 SR5 so if some of these features on the limited and trail are not new :hatsoff:

Limited

Trail in red )no more black cladding) SR5 in Grey

Wheel Options Left to right Trail, SR5, Limited

Trail Has heated seats

SR5 No Longer gets the turn signal in the mirror, no puddle lamp and no running boards

Trail Seats

Limited Front Sensors (not sure if the 10-13 had these)

Limited has heated and cooled (fan blown) seats

Trail and limited have seat memory

New Dash Gauges

SR5, Trail, and limited get power outlets for the rear pass.

Power running boards on the limited with on off switch

Push Button HVAC on all models, and on this (limited) you can see the heated and cooled seats.

If you have more details and or pictures please post them in this thread.

Here is one more little goodie from the FJ Summit......

Avail (so says TRD) December 2013 with 30% Hp gain and 25% Torque Gain....

Those Limited seats make me very very sad, I wish I had those. Do the panels on the side of the doors match the seats? or is it just the seat covers that are brown?

OKAY OKAY I lied.... I was mistaken, the Trail does NOT have memory seats. I thought it was the trail because of the stitching that matched the trail seat. HOWEVER, after watching a vid I took of the power running boards, I notice that only the limited had the memory seats and the door stitching in the Limited matches the seats in the trail....See pic below of the limited interior.

sorry for the mistake Thai, They confused me by making the interior door panels on the limited match the seats on the trail....I guess it was on purpose????

The purpose is cost cutting, it kinda kills the ambiance of the Limited especially since the 10-13 Limited had matched door panels.

I am also blown away that Toyota stuck with the same old silver dash panels we all have for the Limited and used the nicer glossy ones for the SR5 and Trail.

Toyota USA was there and they were taking notes. Final Production is still fluid according to the reps. so perhaps they will change a few things. BTW they ran these on the trails in Colorado on SAT. And they all will be crushed when this tour ends as they are not us Licensed vehicles they are listed as samples/demo vehicles. ....Start crying now....

That front-angle photo of the Limited (showing the proximity sensor) makes the twin chrome bar design look good. I hope the lower "bumper" is metal and not chrome-plated plastic (can't imagine that it's the latter). I'm trying to picture it with the front license plate.

Also still can't figure out where those LED light elements are in the headlamps.

The SR5 seems to be going back to its roots -- the wheel design, removal of the chrome and side and rear skirts, etc.

Crushed? We get preproduction vehicles licensed with manufacturer tags for quality control usage (swap warrantied parts in to confirm the failure). They definitely won't be sold, but I doubt they'll be crushed any time soon. More likely shipped off to some far away land that doesn't have vehicle regulations or join the TRD fleet as test vehicles.

Also still can't figure out where those LED light elements are in the headlamps.

It appears to run along the top from the rear to the front of the light and then switch downward... like an upside down Nike symbol.

RE: show and pre-prod vehicles being crushed. I remember a tragic YouTube video showing a Lexus IS used for some sort of show (might have been SEMA) being crushed. Probably a liability type of thing.

RE: the DRLs: that upside down "swoosh" is what I thought, but couldn't tell if it was an LED strip or the chrome reflector. The b-roll driving footage showed the headlights on and no LEDs were visible. Was thinking it might be like some of the Hyundais with LEDs where they are not DRLs.

I am sure these will live a while before they are crushed. He used the word crushed in a more symbolic way than a literal way. He just said when they were done with the press events, the trucks would head for the crusher. They very well could be shipped south or even used as test vehicles.

he said it was for the 2010 and newer T4Rs, so I am thinking it will not fit the older runners.

well that sucks, but i doubt id want to fork over the 5k for the supercharger anyway (price based on URD)

i don't think i will get used to the look of the new front, especially the limited model.

The supercharger would definitely be a nice option to make up for the lack of a V8 or more powerful offering.
