Hello all. I am new and sorry this is where I am making my first post, but I am seriously considering a new SR5 Prem, but have some questions about how the 4Run holds it's value.
Basically, to boil down to the final question here, is that my salesman (who is pretty solid, and has been very upfront and no BS) is telling me they have had MANY 4Runner customers who are leasing choose NOT to buy more than 12k miles as they can usually buy the car out at the end of the lease and sell it and make money.
IE - the SR5 Prem I am looking at stickers for $38k, but at the end of a 2yr / 24k lease I can buy for $26k.
When comparing to 2-3 year old 4Runs in my area, with 40k-60k miles on then, they are asking for $29k-31k.
I mean, in theory I can do the low mile lease, buy the car at the end vs paying the mile penalty (about $1200 for excess miles if I turn it in), and clear $2000-3000 by doing so.
I just want to ask the opinions of 4Runner owners if they see the values hold like this guy is telling me. He says at worst, most 4runner owners are at a break even situation if they trade in vs turning it in.
Thoughts?
