2014 T4R Remote Start

One of the things I am able to do is full takeover (I think). I remote start, unlock doors, put key into ignition, turn key to on, use button on compustar fob to turn off but the engine stays on, drive away. This has to be done before touching brake however.
Programming the factory fob to remote start is not a big issue but if it can be done why not. I like to have compustar fob though, still a lot of places around here with no cell service and the factory fob is useless for range.
 
With push to start on the Limited, there is no takeover, Opening door shuts it down.
Step on brake, push button on dash for take over, not a big deal to do.

on what system? Viper, compustar or oem?

anything using a evo-all on a PTS limited 4runner will have take over

OEM will NOT
 
I believe that Fortin's Evo-All will allow full takeover on a push to start. I am thinking about putting one in with a viper RS two-way.

Based on everything I have read it should work without shutting off the engine but have not seen anyone confirm this though.

I have the Directed (Viper) Smart Start module DSM300 with a Fortin EVO-All and it does takeover by hitting the start button twice upon entering (you must have the OEM keyfob, obviously). Unfortunately the setup did not allow me to use the OEM keyfob to use the door locks or start the vehicle with three lock presses like the dealer promised, so he also put in a simple Avital (4103) one way starter module to handle that. I wasn't thrilled, with the basic 1-way, so he will be pulling the 4103 and putting in a better 2-way system with decent range tomorrow. I didn't want a second keyfob, so if I am going to carry one, I want to have a decent one with decent range.
 
ADS and Directed modules do not have takeover and the starter shuts down when opening the door, they both have the disclaimer in their install guides. The reason being is all they are doing is tricking the vehicle into thinking it has an OEM starter. I was unaware Fortin had a solution since I do not work with those much.

Directed product does not have a start command on the D2D connection, so no 3x lock. A way around this is to hook up drivers door lock motor as a trigger input, kinda ghetto but works. If it was a Compustar system it should work. If you are swapping to another starter I would ask your tech about Compustar CM-7200.

Let's clarify.

I data link is emulating oem starter as well as trilogix. No tricking anything here.

Fortin on the other hand is doing a back door hack for the remote starter.

Using a cm7200 from compustar and a evo all, a talented installer can get it to start with the oem fob and probably get it to unlock from the oem fob too while it is running.

Hint: pink wire positive trigger start set to 3 pulses

I have a viper remote start LCD two way installed and the company put a bypass module in so the vehicle will not cut off when you unlock the doors. Check out viper website hopefully you will have a preferred dealer near you.
Advantages of a good aftermarket remote is.
1. Range
2. Two way remote (lets u know vehicle has started)
3. Engine does not cut off when u unlock door.
4. Has pit stop mode (which is nice if you have to run into a store for a minute and you what to leave your vehicle running without the keys in the starter and the doors locked.
5. Also down the road if you want to add smart start (were you can use your cell phone to lock, unlock, start the vehicle) from anywhere.

The only downside to a aftermarket remote start is having a extra fob to carry, but they are small. Cost was $430 for product and labor. Taking the wife vehicle in on July 3 to have done.

where did you get the bypass module to bypass the vehicle shutting off when you open the doors?
