Man... Its wild out there. My job has me interacting with vehicle inventories and wow... those profit margins are PHAT. Whoever said vehicles aren't a good investment never saw this coming

I talked to a dealership salesman, and he was saying that they're in a miserable situation, with very low inventory. Salesmen are basically making no money. I guess that the markups on the few vehicles they have are supposed to make up for that.

For individual salesmen(even dealerships), its not a pretty picture. And the markups are just a perfect storm of shitty situations that I wont get into. The estimated losses in sales are in the $100's of billions. I was more talking about the individual vehicles they do sale.

I heard the same thing. The sales people actually hate the mark-ups because it’s the #1 thing causing customers to walk. That’s in additions to those walking away due to low inventory and not having a specific trim, color or options

Current market of cars is really weird. I regret not buying a used 4 runner 2 years ago. That deal was a real find.

This 2014 FJ is in Wisconsin. Pristine condition. Had 3 owners and 63 miles on the odometer. Bought as a rental.
How does this make any sense?
