  6. Does either brand have problems with the 2nd-row mat sliding around?

Much appreciated for any help you can provide. I got my 4Runner without any factory mats, so I hope to have this worked out and ordered before my baby comes in.

I have a 2016 (Limited, but I don't think there's likely to be a difference between the trims).

I can confirm that both front mats have two locking tabs each (all the same twist-to-lock style). My Husky liners have all the necessary hardware. (Since I have Husky liners so I can't comment on the slipperiness of the Weathertechs, but my Huskys are not particularly slippery.)

For the 2nd row the fit is very snug. I'm not sure if it's because of all the spikes on the bottom or because the single continuous mat covering both sides (going over the transmission hump) doesn't give it a lot of degrees of freedom.

I can't speak to the cargo area since I don't have a mat there.

Passenger and driver both have two locking tabs.

I myself have husky liners and they are awesome. I have a cargo mat too. After a month the cargo liner fit like a glove but it's winter here in Calgary Canada. I could have taken a hair dryer to them but I didn't care. It fit good when I pressed it down. Knew it would fit better after they warmed up and conformed to shape after being shipped and who knows how long they sat rolled up in storage from the factory

Have a 2016 trail, confirmed that it has 2 locking tabs (twist to lock) onthe passenger side.

2nd row fits really well and doesn't move around like the oem mats because it's 1 piece and also because of the spikes on the bottom.

I have the husky cargo area mat, and it does cover where the tie downs are behind the wheel well (you have to cut them out). If you didn't like the big rear lip on the husky mat, you can cut it down if you wanted to.

I have the canvasback for the cargo area (with 3rd row) and I'm happy with it. I wish the dog didn't slip around so much on it. I've considered just going with the OEM rubber mats for the rest since they're fairly cheap on eBay.
 
If anyone on this thread is still interested I have the weathertech digital fit mats all throughout my 2015 trail and after seeing the husky liner cargo mat I wish I had gone with that. The weathertechs in the passenger part of the vehicle are great but the cargo mat looks more like the oem one pictured above and is kinda useless, the husky liner one looks way better at keeping messes contained and I like how it has lips going up the walls and into the tie down spots behind the wheels.
 
Dang, thanks for the insight guys. Super helpful. Looks like it's Husky for the cargo mat in that case.

Just left with questions 3 and 4 at this point!
 
I just ordered a set of Husky liners (front, rear, and cargo). I have weathertech in my suburban and have not been too impressed with them. They are a lot thinner than I had expected and have curled up at all the edges over time. There is now a gap at the door sills because of this. I would not call them slippery when wet but definitely not much anti-skid material IMO.
 
I just installed Husky's in my 2015 TE. No regrets at all. I've used Weathertechs in our BMWs and Jeep GC. I'm not sorry in the least bit with trying the Husky brand this time.

The USA one is 1 giant piece for the 3rd row equipped 4runners. Meaning if you have the 3rd row mat, and you need to put the 3rd seats up, you are stuck with, WTF do I do with this mat now. Which means you end up trying to roll it up and stick it into the little spot between the seat backs and the gate and pray it doesn't unravel as you drive around. Which also means you have zero truck space.

It's never made sense to me. I talked with the guy at the dealer when I dragged the matt to the back of my car to check out the placement. We both discussed how the only fix would be to cut the mat and attach it some how.

This is perfect! Pretty similar to my wife's all weather mats in her Outback, I was going to try and rig something together to copy it. I just emailed them asking if they'll ship to the lower 48 States.

If I can't get that mat from our neighbors to the north, I think I'll be going with a canvasback.

Having seen both sets of matts I went with the WeatherTechs, finish and fit of the Weathertechs are what swayed me.

That's only if you do not have a 3rd row. I have the OEM cargo mat for the 3rd row and it does cover the entire area including behind the wheel wells.

That looks like exactly what I'm looking for! As I have a TE coming in, it's only got 2 rows, but it looks like this would work as well?

Do you have a part number for it or know where I could find one?
