2015 changes?

2014's have the Terrain Select display on the clock LED where as the 2015's have it on the LCD between the speedo and tach......... I think?

(threadbump) I own a 2014 SR5 and just took delivery of a 2015 SR5 today. I ordered them both from the factory and they were identical orders. Side by side comparison reveals the following:

c) Finally, the only real difference, and one that will rarely show up for folks. I ordered both the 2014 and 2015 with the base entune (sans navigation, topic of several other threads). The 2014 didn't have the shark fin antennae, and the 2015 does. Not sure if it does anything, other than allow me to tell them apart.

On the 2010-13, the sharkfin is for satellite radio and there was an old-school antenna on the front rt fender. 2014+ got an in glass antenna as standard. I'm wondering if your 2015 has the option of satellite radio while the 2014 does not? Seems strange!

All those receiver plugs are good for is holding water in your hitch and making it rust faster. However it will be pretty in front of all the rust. :frog:

Bought a 2015 SR5 tonight. Traded my 06' v8 w/115k miles.

34k. 5 free oil changes, navigation, backup camera. My 06' Sport had the sunroof which I never used. More headroom. Not a v8. Plenty of farkels.

Out before the XREAS repllacement / and bearings.

I'm a section 179 guy, so what works for me, well YMMV.

Wife likes it and the backup camera is a hoot.

Traded in my 2013 Limited for a 2015 Limited this morning. So far the only changes I've noticed:

- 12v "wall outlet" plug in center console is gone.
- Memory seats (this was one of the main reasons I traded)
- Heated AND ventilated seats (just heated before)
- Nav/Audio screen is a little smaller (I previously had the JBL premium w/o Entune, but my understanding is that they all have Entune now w/ JBL)
- "Party Mode" is gone (I never used it anyway)
- Mirrors have been restyled
- Front bumper has been restyled
- Taillights have been restyled
- Shift knob has been restyled (now w/ wood grain)
- Dash insert above glove box now wood grain

(some of the above may have been changed in the 2014 model, but it just seems new to me coming from a 2013)

I miss the center console outlet the most. Although it has a 12v car charger outlet, I liked using it for charging my cellphone using a wall cord and passengers could use the USB slot in the dash under the audio controls to charge at the same time. Without a car charger, now there is only one place to charge (in the dash using the USB.)

I also ordered the new 4Runner with third row seats instead of the rear sliding cargo tray. I never really used it and found it was in the way more than helpful. My initial impression is that the third row seats have extremely limited leg room, but I'm sure they are not designed for adults mostly.

Does this mean you ride the Short Bus?

"Section 179 of the United States Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. § 179), allows a taxpayer to elect to deduct the cost of certain types of property on their income taxes as an expense, rather than requiring the cost of the property to be capitalized and depreciated. This property is generally limited to tangible, depreciable, personal property which is acquired by purchase for use in the active conduct of a trade or business.[1] Buildings were not eligible for section 179 deductions prior to the passage of the Small Business Jobs Act of 2010; however, qualified real property may be deducted now"

yes you are correct? My 2015 LE says 6300 GVWR, I'll be writing off 25K +5% of the purchase price!!!

If you own and operate a business you certainly should consider it. There's actually a bonus depreciation factor, plus the tax and license so your first year on say a 40k SUV that meets the section 179 criteria is really upwards of 80%.+

Your CPA can guide you.

Found two more differences between my 2014 and 2015 (both base SR5's).

d) Gas cap on 2014 says no higher than E10, cap on 2015 says no higher than E15. Not sure what that means, but guessing maybe ethanol percentage??
e) 2014 has Bridgestone tires. 2015 has Dunlops. (I'm guessing those can vary even within a model year, so likely not a true year-to-year difference)

d) Yes. The 2015 will run up to 15% ethanol.

e) My 2015 TEP came with Dunlops which I promptly sold to Discount Tire for $80.00 ea. and put on Cooper ST Maxx.

I saw some 2015s being delivered at my local dealer today and noticed that the spare is no longer painted yellow, at least on the Limited. A regular wheel as it was on the 4th Gens.

I purchased a 2015 TEP w/KDSS 2 months ago and the spare is a black metal rim, running the Dunlop tire.

I can't speak for the 2014, but my 2015 TEP W/KDSS has satellite radio and I can pause, rewind, and fast forward the radio broadcast. (IF) you have been listening to a channel for awhile and you want to hear what was just said, simply rewind it for an instant replay. Pretty cool feature.

Mine..........can't do that lol. Seems like a cool feature. I always hear a song and miss the artist. Would be nice to go back and get that info.

I can confirm this exists on the 2014. I have an sr5 with the premium package and I can rewind the radio.

I have the same radio, but, thought this only works on FM radio. Does it work on satellite radio?
