Thanks for this info - I had the problem shown in the picture and was able to remove my lens and cleaned it up with McGuire Plasticx( after taking the lens to auto zone and asking for their opinions). Took a number of cycles of rubbing and polishing but i can now see through it quite well. Reinstalled easily, given the instructions and reversing the steps.

I guess if i had tried the PlasticX first i may not have had to remove the lens but thought i'd have to order another anyway.

Glass is $27 and work is 20 minutes of DIY. Make sure that rig wasn't in the flood. That moisture in there is concerning.
