2015 LE purchase advice

Yeah. I disagree with that. The 4Runner is not a Suburban or minivan. When I bought my Trail last week I asked the dealer about that third seat option as it was in a Limited Edition I test drove and he said the majority of people do NOT want it.

IMO - if you need seating for eight people, get neutered and by a minivan. ;-)

Thanks it's freezing here as well so I feel your pain. It appears the only way you sacrifice cargo space is if you opted for neither third row or sliding cargo deck. I guess the third row can't hurt for the few times we may have to use it.

Raider - I purchased a 2015 LE 4WD 4runner in November from Toyota of Hackensack. The only option I added was the standard running boards (I told the dealer that I didn't want the factory cargo mats). Price was about $40,200 before taxes and title/registration.

Frankly, I did not find Prestige to be competitive. In addition, while Toyota of Morristown offered a decent price, it wasn't as good as the price I received from Hackensack. I worked with Jay Rim from Toyota of Hackensack (internet sales). He was willing to negotiate the price over email and was overall great to work with. Hopefully this helps.

Dr. Van Nostrand, this is helpful. I'm going to give Jim a ring tomorrow and see what he can do. As I stated earlier right now I'm at 44,256 with running board, third row, remote start, all weather mats, cargo cross bars, and then mud guards, wheel locks, and paint protector where already on the vehicle they have. That being said I've been told its about $300 over invoice and a good price, but after speaking to some members here it appears there is still room to negotiate. I'm not trying to nickel and dime these guys, but I'm also not looking to pay more than I should.

Right now I have twin 6 month olds so they will not be in the third row for a long time. I put the ban on the minivan at all costs and now my wife likes the idea of the third row for times when her Mom is visiting as with car seats there is no room currently. I guess I'll need to make a decision soon. I may just have to get the third row just so it's there in those few instances.

Its all about the area I guess.. I know here in Michigan, the Moms here wanted that third row. Thats what I experience with my sale..

Well I finally made it to the dealership today and was able to compare two 2015 LE's side-by-side, one with the third row and one without. After spending some time looking at the cargo area of the two as well as the third row configuration I think I've decided to cancel the third row option and just go without. For me personally, I did not like that the floor of the cargo bed was raised a few inches with the third ow option and when I did use this third row seat whoever sits back there basically has their head inches away from the rear window. Also with two infant car seats, the only way someone is able to access the third row would be to either remove one of the seats or climb in through the tailgate, both of which are not ideal. In any even it came down to practicality, space, and safety concerns for me to do without the third row. Thanks to everyone for all the help. I will post pics once I pull the trigger. I was set on attitude black but my wife through a last minute wrench in by suggesting the blizzard pearl?

You described this scenario perfectly. I have the 3rd row and it only gets used once in a while, but if I had to use it everyday or even a few days a week with two car seats in the second row, it would be a PITA to manage.

Be prepared to pay a few hundred more for the blizzard pearl paint. Toyota actually charges more for that paint. But the color is gorgeous!

since no one mentioned it, do not get the factory remote start. get a drone mobile (compustar) or other 3rd party remote start.

I totally understand your logic. The leftover height is not an insignificant difference. You're also right about the rear headrest placement. It's tight. (We also looked at the Highlander and it was the same deal...dunno if Toyota needs to rethink it's interior geometry)

I also agree with the access problem. But, it's either this or a minivan for us... to make access easier, I installed a Smittybilt Beaver Step on the hitch.

IMO, the 4Runner looks best in the darker colours. I hate swirl marks so Black is a no go, but the Magnetic Grey and dark blue are sharp colours. We went with Blizzard Pearl (also wife's preference; and a no-cost option for us Canucks). I have to admit it's a very nice paint.

The Blizzard Pearl looks great with the redwood interior.

I saw a pearl white LE Saturday when I was having my clear bra put on and it is a beautiful color. I had one of the last year Preludes years ago with pretty much the same color and really liked it.

For my 2015 Trail there was one color and only one I would accept - Attitude Black baby. That color with its slight midnight blue metallic in certain light - I can't resist. Gorgeous but I can tell already (like any black vehicle) it's going to be a pain to keep clean (or at least not show the dust).

Agreed Blitzkrieg, there wasn't much room for negotiating. At the end of the day, I got the truck I wanted at a decent price. Now I just hope I don't regret getting a black vehicle again. After my triple black 2000 mustang gt I swore I'd never get a black vehicle again. 15 years later and here I am.

Don't worry about the price. Price is so market-sensitive. It's a hot truck with limited supply (short-supply, in some markets). Just be happy you found one you like.

If you do use a leaf blower, make sure its electric and not gas/oil. It will leave residue all over your car.

Nah, I wish I got your price. My price was without third row. You got an amazing deal on yours. I wound up going with Parkway Toyota.
