2015 T4R Wheel Choices-FN vs SCS

Okay....i know this is just going to be one more post in a flood of posts in regards to wheels BUT i want people's opinions for a very specific situation.

I have a 2015 Super White Trail Edition T4R and I definitely want black wheels (most likely matte instead of gloss). I've narrowed it down to FN and SCS based on pictures on here and cost.

If anyone is willing to share their experiences with either of the brands (model specific or not) that would be amazing!

Also, if you happen to own a white T4R, i'd love to see some pics of your wheel tire combo!

Backtracking a bit...i'm going to get a Toytec Boss Lift, whatever wheels i can decide on and most likely BF KO AT 2.

I was going with black but looking at some pictures they just didn't really do it for me. I ended up going with gun metal gray and I couldn't be happier.

I know these aren't the wheels you are interested in but you might want to consider the color.

I had SCS wheels on my 1997 Runner and did love them. Fit finish and quality is top shelf. For my new 2015 I loved the stock TRD PRO wheel but wanted the width and better back spacing. Dealing with SCS in the past was excellent and either choice you will be very happy.

Bilstein 5100's 1.75" front (3rd clip from bottom)
Pair of OME 10mm spacers top of rear stock coils (20mm each)
BFGoodrich AT KO2 275/65-17 E load tires
FN F(x) Wheels matte black
Removed factory side steps

HUGE thank you to Dustin at FN wheels. Hands on easy to deal with professional guy with no run around. Wheels are quality and came with lug nuts locking tool and center caps. Excellent pricing, and even my very reputable tire shop who I do a lot of wheels with over the years said they were damn nice quality over how many aftermarket wheels they deal with daily. Were actually round and balanced awesome even with the heavy BF's.

I picked up the SCS Stealth 6 wheels in gun metal. Was originally going to get black, very happy with the gun metal also, SC is a small vendor, and Vin (owner) was great to deal with. Also, since SCS is local to me, I saved on shipping and picked up from their shop. Check my build thread for pics

It's good to hear that so many people have had such good experiences with these two companies. That's one of the reasons i've narrowed it down to these two.

I'm definitely leaning towards the matte black just because i like the way it tends to blend in with the tire. I don't want anything fancy but i want it to be a great wheel for both trail riding and daily commuter. If anyone else has anything that I'm not mentioned, feel free to reply.

At the moment though i'm leaving towards the SCS Stealth 6 in Matte Jet Black in 17" x 8.5".

I don't know much about SCS, but FN is awesome. Great quality and customer service. Tons of them out there and I have never heard of a single issue.

FWIW I have the SCS SR8 on my 3rd gen, and they are great. Vin was awesome to work with, and just had a really great customer service experience with them. IMHO you can't beat the price of the SCS wheels with the fit, finish, and look that you are going to get. Especially if wheeling your rig is in your future.

IMO, you can't go wrong with either choice. Both are small vendors with excellent customer service and Dustin (FN) and Vin (SCS) are great to deal with. My biggest gripe with FN is their ordering system. Some of the wheels they sell aren't listed on their website so you don't really know what they sell unless you hang around the forums. For instance you'd never know that they have the FN Five Stars in a 17" or the FN Pro f(x) since those aren't even listed on their webpage to order. That aside I think both companies are very similar. Smaller vendors focusing on high quality wheels. I also like the fact that their wheels are very lightweight compared to stock wheels and to other aftermarket companies like XD, Fuel that are anywhere from 10-20 lbs heavier per wheel.

Personally I went with the SCS Stealth 6 in matte gunmetal. There is just something very subtle and elegant looking to them, imo. Although the FN Pro F(x) is another wheel I'd consider.

Im running a toytec lift, SCS SR8's in matte black with 285 KO2's. I have been extremely happy with the SR8's and they were definitely worth the money. The only gripe I have with them is they are hard to keep clean as the faux-beadlock ring holds water and dirt.

All in all, a great wheel and Vin was great to work with.

Nice rig bro. Did you rub at all? I have 2016 SR5 with same Bilstein set up but wondering if 285's will rub?
