I've had a vibration since I got the truck- it happens every couple of seconds when driving between 30-50 mph and only when it's cold out. It doesn't happen when I'm accelerating and doesn't happen in 4wd. Dealer has looked at it and can't find anything wrong. Any ideas????

It's a known issue with the following TSB but not for '16's yet. Here are other threads on this. Same with me and about all others. Only when cold out.

Thank you for this. I have the same issue. I live in South Alabama, so unfortunately, may have to wait until next year. Already 70degF+, so not sure if it will be cold enough again this year to get it to a dealer where they would actually be able to admit to hearing it.
Wonder why they haven't updated it to included the 2016s yet?
Any downside to waiting another year to get it fixed?

It may take a certain amount of owners to complain about it but this is most likely what you are experiencing. Personally, I don't know if I'll do anything about it whether the 16's are added to TSB or not. It's not detrimental and I don't want anyone's hands on my truck when it's not necessary........but to each his own.

This is pretty well documented in Tacoma's, they use this guy from east coast gear.. Do some research to see if it sounds like the same thing, if so this may be a better alternative.

Yep. I had this happen many many times when I was running Nitto. Just when cold, certain speed and went away once tires warmed up a bit and rounded out.

But if it's the cold tires, would it make sense for it to persist between 30-50 MPH (seems a wide range for some sort of resonant frequency to setup based on tires that are out of round) and to only occur in 2WD and to cease when in 4WD?
However, all that being said, it seems like the needle bearing failures are something that happens after a few thousand miles...

Happens when it's cold out even when the truck is warm. I have nitto terra grappler g2 but this was noticed with stock tires as well

And it absolutely stops when you put it into 4WD? In other words, if you're driving along straight at 35 MPH and have the vibration, it ceases completely (or at least substantially) as soon as you engage 4WD?

Then I'd agree with others and say it sounds like something to do with the needle bearing. However, you normally only see it in trucks that have some wear on them (was your truck new when you got it?) and there is normally a noise associated with it that goes away when 4WD is engaged. Regardless, it seems more likely than not that it has something to do with 4WD and that is apparently a known issue that can arise.
