As a 3rd gen owner and impartial viewer of this internet pissing match

TRD Pro owners seem to get hated on simply because they can afford the Pro. Class Warfare - Poor people hating on those richer than them is a common thing in society. Is an iPhone better than a Samsung, no the samsung has better hardware everyone knows this, but Samsung users hate on iPhone users whose phone costs $150 more. Apple does better job with marketing and design.
The Trail Premium is better truck and better value than the Pro, the pro just has some tinsel and better marketing. Your Trail is a Samsung Galaxy and the Pro is an iPhone

TLDR version: non Pro owners are jelly and butthurt theyre priced out of the top model

I'm not saying I'm richer than someone else because I'm not by any means. Basically my Pro is same as my wife's Trail non KDSS but with a better suspension, nice color, better looking grille and wheels. Just odd people are still hating on them when it's the exact same thing with a few cosmetic and the better suspension

I like the Pro's. I like the little bits of different styling and the more I see the Inferno Red, the more I want it. I got a Trail Premium because I wanted a sunroof. If they offered a sunroof on the TRD Pro I might have one. Actually, if they offered a 2nd gen Tacoma with a sunroof, I'd probably have one of those because I wanted the utility of a pickup, and I already have another 4Runner.

Man I love the look of the TRD. If you can afford that and like it then go for it! I planned on lifting mine so I didn't care about TRD suspension but I friggin' love the TRD wheels. Searching for a set to put on my Trail.

I drove both the TRD and Trail with KDSS. I really liked both, but ultimately decided to go with a TEP with KDSS because there was no wiggle room on the price for the TRD, and I thought the overall ride was better. It also came with the sunroof which I really wanted. If you really like the styling of the TRD, just buy the parts after you get a TE. I think some guys found the bumper parts for around $600, so you'll save a good amount of money. Not sure on the TRD wheel price. It might be easier to find a Mag Grey TE anyways. If you're a USAA member, take advantage of their car buying program. If not, use True Car. Most dealerships will honor it. Good luck, hopefully you get what you want.
