Hello, I just got a 2016 Trail Premium in Magnetic Grey. I also recently made a website that features my family and 4runner build. Its something I like to do in my time away from my full time job.
Basically I like to make videos about things I like or modifications to my 4runner. Im not a professional yet haha just an average joe, with an average income. but I like to do things myself whenever possible.
I'm eager to join the ranks of the 4runner community and would like to help whenever I can.
I did the Razir led headlights/fog lights, Nfab nerf bars, and Installed a dash cam with 24hr surveillance.

You can see all my videos my website :
2016 Toyota 4Runner Trail Premium | The Ronin Chronicle

I want to mount a holster just to the right of where my leg would be or inside the center console possibly for a concealed option. Maybe both actually haha. I have the Sig P320 compact and subcompact. They both come with stock holsters that I could possibly use.

Im planning on getting the Cooper ST MAXX tires in 285 because they seem to be the best choice among over-landers and have a great look. I also considered the duratracs, but I like the way cooper looks a bit better. I heard the spider traxx 1.5" spacers are good to add for a better stance look, is that right?

For the Lift I was thinking the Icon stage 1 or 2. Still need to research as I haven't at all haha. Open to suggestions here.

Would then like to add the Gobi Stealth Rack and ladder.

I would like the cube ditch lights and led bar as well but need to research that too.

I think I would wait on wheels until I got these things done. what do you think? As for wheels I was thinking the TRD pro in matte gray would be cool. Let me know what you all think.

I recently went to the Overland Expo in Flagstaff. I took some great photos and made a simple video slideshow if interested, you can see it here:

Tires and Icon Stage 1

I think I am going to go with the Cooper Discoverer Stt pro MT 285/70/17.
Im going to order them online through Treaddepot.com. here is the link to their site and the tires.
I want the M/T's because they look way better and I want the most off road capability I can have. This is my daily driver and grocery getter but I work only 1 mile away haha.

https://www.treaddepot.com/#!productDetail/tireStandardFitment/90000023652
has anybody ever ordered through them?

I got a quote today for the ICON stage one 3" lift to be installed and to mount the tires.
$1842.54 is the ICON kit
$360.00 is the installation
$85.99 is the alignment
$100.00 is for mount & balance of the tires
$20.00 is for valve stems
$145.28 is tax

tires will be $924 with no sales tax and free shipping.

So the total will be $3,477 for just the lift and tires.

I want Icon because it seems to be a great choice for quality and performance.

I don't think I am getting rims at this time because I cant find any I like. however I can get the Matte Grey TRD pro rims from these guys for an extra $1k or so. But i read the TRD paint on the rims can be defective?

If that is the case, I can't get those. Let me know what you guys think.

Tread depot just ended the free shipping special as I was posting that! how crazy.
So i guess I will try to get the tires fro them if they will price match. If they dont, then Discount tire or Big O should I think.

New lighting items

I got my Interior LED kit and high beam (9005) led bulbs from HID extra. I will be comparing these to the set the interior LED's I got from Superbrightleds.com.
I also will show the installation too.

update on Razir LED kit

Well I finished the LED swap completely, well, except vanity's which I forgot about. But everything else is done, even puddle lamps. I ended up using the LED's that I previously had from Superbrightleds.com because the quality of the hidextra kit wasnt as good. Which makes sense in relation to their price points. the Hidextra kit was only $30 but came with nice plastic tools to make the job 10x easier. The superbright leds that I picked were much more costly but the quality is very apparent however I did have a bad buld from them and returns are a PIA, whereas hidextra returns are very easy.
anyhow, I working on a video of course. it was 115 degrees here today and I still got it all done. Not my first rodeo tho so it wasnt too bad. haha

Where did you get your lift/install quote from?

I am interested to see how you like the LED razir high beams , I am getting the LED highs from XenonDepot Wednesday I cant wait to put them in !
Erick.

Where did you get your lift/install quote from?

I got the quote from Ricky at XTC motorsports in Chandler. He has been great with me questioning him through email! I like that a lot. great service and pricing seems fair. was even willing to price match on tires.
Seems like the only decent facility I can find in the east valley.

Sneak Peak

So the led swap came out great with my handpicked bulbs from Superbrightled's. I did use a couple from the HID extra kit for the puddle lamps and vanities. So considering that and the tools it came with, it was't such a bad purchase.
Here is a sneak peak of the shots I took last night of the interior.

Full LED SWAP video!!!

Hey guys, I finally got my video finished! I did this on Saturday when it was 115 degrees outside and was trying to work fast.

I absolutely love this mod and would highly recommend it to anybody of all makes and models. My video is mostly time lapsed and shows the stock #'s for each bulb and shows the ones I used.
Here is what I did and times they appear in the video :

intro to outcome and bulbs used
License plate lights 0:44
Cargo hatch 1:21
Reverse lights 2:31
High Beam 3:00
Courtesy Lights (doors) 3:39
Map lights 4:07
Dome 5:38
Puddle lights 6:13
Vanity 7:56
walkaround - end

Check out it out here:

Please let me know what you think, if you have done this, or plan to do it, and know of any other good sites to buy the led's from.

I got mine from superbrightleds.com

Great News!

I have just made a partnership with HID extra and they asked me to pick some things out off of there website to do videos of.
Can you guys help me pick some stuff out for the 4runner?

What would you like to see?

I'm thinking an LED bar but which size for the roof top? I have no idea but we can all benefit from this I think.
I also want to get the square ditch light pods too.

Here is the website here

Maybe they will give me some kits to give away that would be cool too!

Hey man nice write up and how to, I'll definitely be using this when I get back to the US and pick up my truck from RightToyota. Question though what LED's did you use for your fogs and low beams? and are you parked at Scottsdale CC??
