2016 White TEP "Build"

My old dog died on October 7th (Tex). I got him from the local animal shelter 10 years ago and he was always a sweet pup. My mother said he had a noble character, which I think is a very good characterization. This has nothing to do with the build, but he was important to me and just wanted to mention him.

Now the 4Runner:

I made an agreement to purchase an incoming 2016 White TEP in Mid September and it finally came in on Oct 8th. I had purchased a Daystar level kit from Amazon in the previous weeks and installed it on Sunday 9th/Monday 10th. Then had the front aligned and the front windows tinted on the 10th.

(I broke one of the ABS wires and turned on the truck after the install to a plethora of flashing dash lights (Cant have nice things), but realized after searching here what it was and luckily the dealership had one in stock so I replaced the passenger side and it all fixed.)

I ordered and had installed 5 BFG KD02's on Thursday.

I live in central Texas (Austin) and am now trying to formulate my first trip... I am thinking Big Bend National Park to do some camping and photography.

I'd like to have a flat surface to sleep in the back and see if that is a good solution or need to look at a RTT or Teardrop.

Anyway, I realize that there are a ton of similar trucks that everyone posts up, but this one is mine and I really like it.

My next scheduled purchase will be c4Fab sliders mostly because I need steps and they look badass.

Regards,
Chris

Nice looking truck! I'm also in Austin, and also just purchased a white 4Runner, and am also thinking about a trip to Big Bend for some camping and photography, and if the 1969 in your username refers to your birthdate, I think you might be a long lost twin.

I was born in 1969, maybe we can have a beer and talk about a mini expedition to big bend. I've never done any overland trails but having people to share the experience is always part of the fun.

I did a Astro-photography workshop at Big Bend in April/May of this year and it was lots of fun. Although I didn't feel like I saw a ton of the park because we were driving around all night.

Here are some of the photos from that weekend. The galactic core is under the horizon until April or May but there should be some good wildlife pics to take.

Sounds like a great idea! I know next to nothing about astrophotography, but it's something I've wanted to play around with for awhile.

There's some great shots in there, added you on flickr as well!

Long time lurker here, finally breaking the streak to say..

Man, I love this place. Cool thread 8)

Edit: Oh, and man I'm so sorry to hear about your pup. I've wanted a border collie all my life and finally managed to get one last year. I just turned 30 on October 8th and have had many friends over the years, but he is far and away the best of them all. Hope these pics can help put a smile on your face if you're ever feeling bummed out.

What a cute pup you have! I still have one - Lilly ( I got her 6 years ago as a companion for Tex). Gonna wait a bit and see how she adjusts before I make any decisions about getting another.

Sorry for your loss... they find a way into your heart and never let go... my best to you.

In Austin with a white TEP as well.

I've had Toyota 4x4s for awhile See my signature. The land cruiser association used to meet, probably still does, at Ruby's BBQ on 183 the last Tuesday of every month about 7 pm. Was a good time to talk with other Toyota fanatics and plan trips. Not just for land cruisers either. Sorry about your dog. Love them and have two labs. Brother and sister.
