2017 4runner - Headlight condensation?

I definitely had this issue after installing HID's, however I discovered that it was because I didn't seat the dust cover correctly and there was a small gap. I took the dust cover off and let it sit in the sun for a couple days to dry out the moisture and then reinstalled the dust cover correctly and it seems to have fixed my issue. Hopefully that was the culprit
 
I have a 17 and my headlights were showing a ton of condensation on the driver side. I did install the xenon depot HID kit and the dealer had no problem replacing the headlight assembly. They didn’t even question it. However, I now have condensation in the passenger side as well as the newly replaced driver side assembly. As stated, it shows up when the weather changes, especially with a severe drop in temperature on a humid day. I do park in the garage, however it is not climate controlled. I don’t mind it as much in the summer, if I park with my headlights facing the sun they will dry out in a matter of an hour or so. It gets very annoying in the winter when it’s cold AF and the condensation freezes. This affects my headlight beam and drives me insane.
 
Don't drill into your dust covers but run the wiring through the bottom of the headlight where the grommet is at. Then seal the new hid grommet with something. The hole in the headlight dust cover is the easiest way to get moisture inside as when it rains or washing a car will get in there. The hid grommet that comes with the bulb is super cheap and not durable.

The bottom headlight hole below will be alot harder for water to get inside unless you run through deep puddles or going through a pond. Plus with the high stance of a 4-runner and splash shield, I really doubt will water will shoot right into the area of the hole where the newly sealed grommet is.

I have it in the driver side only, the passenger side headlight is ok so I guess moisture gets in from somewhere not just the back cover as both have HIDs (of course)

I already bought a pair of original Toyota dust covers so I can put it back to stock, and claim replacement under warranty I believe I have 5 years due the the extended warranty on my truck.

81135-24160. Sorry I cant provide the link cause when I purchase it in Ebay. the posting says a pair for $9, but I only received one. so I did a separate purchase .
 
T4R 2019 headlight condensation

My new T4R has what appears to dried up condensation spots like what can appear on glasses that are washed in hard water The spots are inside the lenses on both headlights. The dealer took pictures and is working with the Toyota Rep to fix it. Several other new T4Rs on the lot had the same issue. Check your 2018/19 headlights.
 
This also happening on the new 2019 T4Rs. The spots are like the water spot drips you get when you wash glasses in hard water. I have them on my 2019 headlights and when I checked other new ones on the lot, several of them had them too. Check your headlights and if you have the "water" spots/drips go to the dealer and get it documented. It could be overspray from a sealant when they were assembled the lights or just plain old condensation, but you need to get it documented
