2017 OffRoad TRD Headrest?

Hello everyone, I’m buying a 2017 TRD Off road premium and noticed that it has black leather heated seats with red stitching but it doesn’t have TRD head rest? Was that an option that the original owner could’ve opted out off or is it maybe not a premium? I thought it was a premium because it has heated seats.

Sorry for the simple question but I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find anything on this concern I’m having.

Thanks

i have a 2017 TRD ORP I bought new and it came with the TRD red stitching on the headrest. it was not an option.

So weird that this one doesn’t have it. I’m sort of bummed about that because I always thought the TRD looked awesome.

I’m buying it from a private party who claims it never came with those headrest. I’m more or less wondering if the dealer he bought it from swapped them before he bought it.

They're not leather, they're softex.
Someone definitely did the ol' switcharoo

The owner also has a TRD Pro, im wondering if he put my TRD head rest in the rear of his PRO and put the rears of his pro in the front of mine? Would they have the same shape?

I would be careful. Doesn't have the factory headrests (mine is a 2017 and it does like everyone else) and if the person told you it is leather like the previous post said, it isn't leather. Some "private" sellers are not private. They may not have a brick and mortar dealership but they buy and sell cars for a living.

Do both CarFax and AutoCheck.

Also, you may be better off getting a new one. Prices have come down on the Off-roads. See this topic: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/154274-how-much-people-paying-new-4runner-344.html

Absolutely agree with you on this one. I didn’t mean it had actual leather I just wanted it to be clear it wasn’t cloth to you guys. I’m buying from a friend local to me so I know its not some scammer small car flipper. I considered buying new but this one only has 13,000 miles and has only seen a dirt road. On top of that the suspension, bumper, light bar , wheels and tires as well sliders and skids made it a killer deal considering I was going to run the same set up.

The TRD headrest stitching is standard. 2017 offroads were the first ones to have them. Is the center console carbon fiber look alike? Does it have TRD shift knob?

Sounds like you know the seller and it is a good deal. Sounds like someone swapped headrests on you.

Rather than buy new TRD headrests (I think close to $1,200) for the set, I would look into having something custom embroidered onto those headsets in red stitching by a local shop.
