2017 TRD Bilsteins on 03 4Runner V8

Hey all,

I recently picked up a set of 2017 TRD Bilstein front struts/coils and rear struts. Does anyone know what is involved with making these work on the 03' 4th gen? I read somewhere that i need 9.8108G energy suspension poly's for the front struts and can I use stock coils for the rear along with the TRD bilstein struts?

The bushings are needed for the Rear Shocks not the Front.

Thanks for the clarification. Are these the right bushings to use? and would you happen to know what the lift size would be by going with this setup?

Im following your post as I just got 2019 TRD front coils/shocks and rear coils/shocks , but do not think they will fit my wifes 03 V6

I have 2019 front TRD Bilstiens/coils from a Tacoma on my 2003 V8 runner. They will fit your wife's vehicle just fine. As will the rear shocks with the Energy Suspension bushings in the lower shock eyes. I'm also running 2007 FJ rear coils. There are many threads on the forum covering this.

Take those giant spacers off the hats and they will bolt right up.

Yes, those are the correct bushings. Same as what I used.

So when I press out the old bushings with the metal sleeves do I just press these ones right in without any sleeves?

Yes. The old ones might be a biatch to get out but if you have a vice and some sockets, you can do it. Clean the empty hole good and lightly grease it and the new bushings and you can almost put them in by hand. I still had to use a vice initially and then further adjusted by hand.

I didn't swap the bushings when I did mine.
Why are they "required"?

The fronts had to be filed a fraction of an inch to for into the front LCA.

Did you use rear Tacoma shocks? They are required if you do that since the 4runner lower shock mount is a larger diameter than the bushings that the Tacoma uses.

My 2019 Tacoma front shocks and springs bolted right in without any modifications.

Ahhhh... Missed that little detail, mine are off a 4runner.
