2018 4R SR5 - Dealer pushing BG MOA oil additive

The Toyota dealer where I got my 2018 4R is pushing the BG MOA oil additive.

I am doing my own oil changes so not going to use that, I just thought it was funny / interesting / worrisome.

Tried to find out what is in the BG's additive, and they say it has a "proprietary additive formula" LOL I wonder if anybody is buying into this, or - even worse - if the dealer is using it for oil changes and charge people for it.

You should say that you follow Toyota's manual since you do not want to void your warranty... :biggrin2:

Seriously though, BG MOA ??

Another interesting thing: my 4R maintenance reminder is set at 5000 miles. Dealer also discreetly placed an oil change reminder sticker that says next oil change is due at 5000 miles.

As i said I will do my own and every 5k miles on principle, i just thought it was interesting, esp. with car manufacturers advertising oil changes at 10k miles, and all.

Plus the general aversion to oil additives from the same car manufacturers ...

Do not use bg. I am in the car industry and personally know how big of a bs it is. Beware.
