2018 4Runner Limited - keyfob...

Why did they include the keyfob from the cheapest car on the planet with these nice vehicles? I mean, my daughter actually laughed at it when she saw it. I wonder if there is a way to retrofit the guts of these pieces of crap into a higher quality fob.

Look at this cheeser...

Mine has a silver shell. I got my certified pre-owned, and they tried to give me just one fob, but I made sure they put it in writing to make an extra. The extra that they made me has a black shell.

I agree, it would be nice to have an alternative. I don't want a simple cover, I want a nicer FOB.

My prior car was a Mazda that had a much nicer FOB. I know it is a little thing, but still annoying.

I also can't believe that only the limited has push button start. How ridiculous for them not to include this on ever 4Runner at this point.

It looks like a Life Alert panic button for old people. I hate that I need to carry that as well as my Compustar FOB in my pocket. You guys are right, first world problems:lmao:

If you have a techstream you should be able to program it just like you would any other replacement prox. key. You just need to check the FCC ID on the keys since Lexus made multiple flavors and make sure you get one thats compatible.

Just checked and it should work, at least according to the link to the Prius forum posted earlier in this thread. It appears this FOB and the 4Runner FOB use the same 14ACX ID.

I want this but that key is $200+ on most websites plus the programming.

Oooh, that's my Christmas wish list sorted out.

Now I feel bad for coming in this thread to complain about the thread...

Lol. Uh huh. Nothing wrong with wanting expensive items to have expensive quality and appearance. That's what we're paying for. Otherwise we'd all be driving Kia Rio's.
