2018 Calvary Blue TRD Pro going for MSRP...Does That Sound Right??

There is (was?) a dealer in Florida advertising a Cav Blue for like 41 (MSRP was 43) I called and they insisted it was legit...was hard to believe.

There’s one in Houston that’s selling for MSRP last week. I emailed them about it and that’s the price that was shot over to me. $43.8k I believe. Decided on a ORP instead for $6k less.

I ordered mine in early December (2018 White) for a little below MSRP (MSRP w/ slide out = $44,020 per Toyota.com, that includes the $995 delivery/processing/handling fee).

I still haven't taken delivery and worked out all the financing but I have the number ($42,166.00 ) in writing

If you've really been "lurking for a long time", you'd already know this:

- Any Pro thread will quickly devolve and go OT
- Any Pro sells for more than the other models, especially in limited colors

From what I've read; if you've found a Pro in a color you like, for MSRP, buy it now because it will quickly be gone.

I got mine for $1k under MSRP in Texas, from one of my local dealerships. MSRP sounds about right for you, people in Colorado and California pay a lot more than that.

It probably depends on where you live. On the west coast I've rarely seen them for MSRP and usually they're priced at a premium. My buddy spent months looking for a Tacoma TRDP (not the same car I know) and all over CA/NV dealers wanted at least $5k over MSRP. He finally found one at a Toyota dealer in the middle of central CA who said they were a "no markup dealership", so he put deposit down immediately. I think he got lucky that the dealer randomly ordered one and no one locally was interested because it was farm country with big ass diesels everywhere.

Paid 5 over for my Barcelona Red. They wanted 10. I've heard of some people getting them for MSRP, but never under. White would be the only one I could see you possibly getting under for.

If you can get a Pro at MSRP anywhere west of the Mississippi, that's a good deal. If you can get it under MSRP, that's a great deal.

Don't do business with dealerships that will only sell for a mark-up. It encourages anti-consumer behavior and hurts the enthusiast community. There's a particular SoCal dealership that has lost my business for life (new car, service work, or otherwise) because of how they try to manipulate the market by buying used Pros from all over the country and marking them up. eace:

I’m looking to purchase a 2018 Calvary Blue TRD Pro. I’ve contacted a few dealers, and none will go underneath MSRP. Does that sound about right to you? I see some of the other colors going 2-3k under MSRP.

Generally TRDP's go for MSRP and dealers very reluctant to drop price. Live in NE Pennsylvania and looked for three months from Virginia to Maine at Pre-owned and new. Pre-owned where at 1-2K below MSRP.

I got very lucky and found one from dealer 20 miles from home at MSRP with no add-ons.

A friend ended up getting one in Dallas, TX at MSRP. Had to ship it to CA, so basically $750 over MSRP. He wanted Calvary Blue and almost all dealers in CA were charging at least $5K over MSRP no matter what color. Did find a black one coming in that a dealer was willing to do MSRP.

Last year I could have got a Pro for $500 under msrp from my auto broker in CO. Not worth it for me. My TRDORP was WELL under msrp and better equipped.

Haha I know what you mean, don't get me wrong. Granted I would argue the lift does come in handy, even if it is a body lift. Quite a few times I've gone out with stock 4R's and mine didn't rub in areas theirs did due to that.

I originally wanted an ORP, but finding one in Red without KDSS was harder than finding my Red Pro that had zero people lined up to buy. Of course I paid a little more for it because Pro.

Honestly if I had the tools and knowledge I wouldn't have even bought an ORP either. SR5 and fully lock it up.

I think people like myself who don't have that option see the Pro and realize hey, don't need to do tires, don't need to put a skid on it, and I can go play immediately buy it. Of course most see the color and go ZOMG!!!!!

Regardless if I could have had a Red ORP I definitely wouldn't have bought the Pro, no questions asked. My issue was the vehicle I was looking to replace died a few days later and the 3 months or more they were saying it could take wasn't an option for me.
