2018 TPMS compatibility?

I put some brand new takeoff 2018 Trail wheels/tires (the seller upgraded to TRD Pro set-up) on my 2015 LE and the system won't read the sensors according to the Discount Tire guys. As an earlier poster mentioned, the part numbers are different, but I can't figure out why the change or what's different.
The pre-2018 sensors seem to be used in a ton of Toyota-Lexus products from what I see on a site that sells replacement TPMS sensors.
Very frustrating...

I’m not sure why all my post were deleted but I can confirm the part number does not matter. They are interchangeable. It’s the MHz that matters and they both are 315. I changed out my 2012 Limited wheels with 2018 Limited wheels. Sears Auto Center programed the TPMS for $15. Took maybe 5 min for the job. The dealer wanted $80 to do it. Plus wanted me to pay upfront because they said it wasn’t possible since the part numbers are different. They would try but were not responsible if it didn’t work or if it caused any issues trying to program it.

Yeah they change part numbers quite often. What sucks is when they do, trying to determine that it is indeed the correct/same part. TPMS is a perfect example, if you go to any online OEM parts dealer they do not list the MHz of the of the sensor only that the part fits the search criteria.
It is pretty frustrating when you trying to add, fix, or change something without the hassle of calling the dealer parts desk and rolling the dice you actually get to talk to someone that knows WTF they're talking about.
