Honestly, I won't mind if some of these styling cues make it to the 6th Gen 4 Runner.
A throw back to the early 5th gens with the liberal use of black plastic cladding, mirrors, roof rails.
Maybe not so much the FJ style white roof.

For a Rav4, it really is very nice. So much advancement... looking forward to the next leap forward for the 4Runner.

The 220hp 40MPG hybrid is kind of enticing, honestly.

Also like the Adventure model in solid black or with the silver roof.

Looks like the 2019 Adventure model has better ground clearance than the 2018 model (8.6 vs 6.1).

I was actually considering waiting for these to come out and get one instead of the 4Runner. I don't really off road unfortunately and with the better gas mileage, the RAV4 made a lot of sense. The reason I decided to go with the 4R is because I liked the looks better, better off road capability if/when I need to use it, more interior space, and better resale value if/when I get rid of it.

I have a 2012 Trail Edition in Shoreline Blue and my wife has a 2012 RAV4 Sport in Pacific Blue. We're almost matching, though the shades are a little different. We can just forget about the 2013-2018 RAV4's altogether. 2012 was the best year since it was the last with the tire on the back.

First glance I hated it, but it's already grown on me. Looks like the MSRP for the Adventure is up several thousand (I though it was ~$28k for the 2018s)?
Looks like a 4Runner hood with a baby Highlander body and a little C-HR (but flatter) in the rear.

I priced one out and even with some of the options not selected, it was right at $35k. Prices of new cars just keep going up.

I like the 4Runners steering wheel where you can rest your hand on the bottom of the steering wheel. The small hole in the Rav4 steering wheel might fit 2 fingers. I think think this is a trend as I have seen it on a Buick too. Hope the next Gen 4Runner keeps the steering wheel the same.

Are these even driven by people that care that it exists? Looks like the billion other grey/white/black/silver small to midsize crossovers that we all notice in the same way we notice background actors in tv shows. I'm legitimately convinced they are all the same. The only difference is the one with the Toyota badge is reliable.

I've actually been waiting for these to be released. I love my rig, but it's getting close to 20 years old and there's a growing part of me that wants a new rig. As much as I like the new 4Runners, I don't like the size. Way too big for what I'd use it for. On paper the new RAV4 sounds like it would fit the bill pretty good. I probably wouldn't get one until 2020 or 2021 as I tend to avoid the first year of a major redesign.

My local dealer got one in this week. I took a look at it yesterday. I liked it. Seemed like a good size for what I'm looking for. Downside is that it has a good chunk less cargo space than my 2001. And I've definitely gotten accustomed to having the space I've got. I'm curious to what it will feel like on the road.

I would consider a new, more efficient powertrain to be a pretty jump as is for the T4R. The RAV4 would be a good alternative though, but then again, how many aftermarket components can you get for it. Let's face it. For some of us, the build is as much fun as the wheeling.
