I have not driven either but looked at both. The OME shock body is huge, its a beefy looking shock. Didn't really remember the same thing when looking at a new Pro. The owner of the OME said it was stiff, be had 800lb springs on it if I remember correctly.

The OME shocks have internal bypass passages built into the housing. It is actually amazingly compact compared to the external bypass shocks used in desert racing. They are also externally adjustable for both rebound and compression. No reason to have a stiff ride with them. The shock valving changes based on position not velocity like normal shocks or coilovers. Your first bit of travel should be plush only firming up as you approach the end of travel.

I put the OME BP-51 system on my 18 Pro - huge difference for me. So much smoother at speed plus I love the added lift!

Man the OME 51 would be nice to try out. I would need to ride shotgun to get a feel for the adjustable rebound and compression, I'm sure it's first class. The 4wd Aussie show guys had one on the LC, they beat the shit out of it.
