2019 TRD Pro's

I have a buddy that work for a dealer in PA and he told me that the "waiting list" for a PRO is like a year. I think I'll just get an offroad premium, put the black wheels with Nittos, and opt for the KDSS. I have heard great things about on and offroad performance for the KDSS and the wheel/tire add on from toyota is actually cheaper than going for a kit from tire rack.

I hope that whole year thing isn't true...I have my deposit down for a super white with the dealer near me. Though my truck lease isn't up until June 2019 with my GMC. Only way i'd get back into a truck is if the TRD Pro takes to long to get or maybe there is a gen 2 used raptor in my price range...(doubt it)

it's too bad he didn't talk much about the technical updates on '19 TRDPRO. didn't sound like he knew much about the car honestly

Damn, y'all must really love the Pro to pay $10K over an OR.

TRD Pro Price Increase

Well in all fairness there is probably close to $3K in options there that warrant the surcharge. I approve of the taller front springs and wider wheels (especially for those that plan to keep it stock or keep the Pro wheels after a lift), but I could care less about the crappy JBL upgrade and a sunroof that I don't want. Fox shocks might be slightly better than the current Bilsteins, but most will be removed for an aftermarket lift at some point rendering them useless.

I'll admit, a 9-10 year old platform with dated tech and drivetrain that is pushing $50K msrp is going to be a hard sale for most. That said, used Pro's wont look inflated now lol.

Yeah but it's not as if you're getting Bilsteins in a box AND Fox shocks. They're taking off one and putting on the other. Wheels and tires are unchanged. The only difference is adding a sunroof, JBL, and painting the skid plate with red letters. The roof rack is still an option on top of the price. So, uh, where is the $3500 increase coming from?

If a salesman tried to upsell a sunroof, speakers, and red letters to me for $3500, I'd tell him to kick rocks.

Not sure if this was mentioned already or if anyone knows, but will the Cavalry Blue color trickle down to other trims for the next model year?

Using that logic they would still be using the 22-RE and a 4 speed auto. It is selling well(As most SUV's) and see no reason to change it I guess.
The vehicles should be arriving in December 2018/January 2019. However, some dealers are already sold out of 2019 inventory. There are only 3 colours available, so if you know which colour you want, I would leave a deposit now to get a shot at having a new model. Otherwise, cross your fingers and hope for a 2020 re-design.

Cavalry Blue will not be available on any 2019 4Runner models. It is being replaced by Voodoo Blue as seen at the Chicago Auto Show.

For 2019, the Tacoma will be available in Cavalry Blue. Blazing Blue will no longer be available on 2019 Tacoma models.

Is the TRD Pro worth the extra money? I like the appearance package, although it is a tad gimmicky. The whole blacked out thing is getting a little out of hand.
For my money, I would by the Off-Road and put the Heritage Grille on. You can also easily modify the front and rear bumpers to remove the silver grilles and replace them with black.

Unless you are going to be jumping sand dunes, the TRD Pro will probably be a bit of a stretch.

Hi guys,

Just put a deposit on a 2019 TRD Pro today. This will be my first Toyota.

Anyway, chose Voodoo Blue for lack of any other option really. Am going to do a full wrap on the vehicle anyway but wanted to have the heritage color.

The dealership made no mention of an audio upgrade (this is Canada), they don't know much at this stage. Fox suspension, roof rack, LED fog lights(low beams?) and something else minor that's slipped my mind were the only upgrades/changes they mentioned. Plan to do some upgrades anyway and the roof rack will likely come off, lighting will change, etc.

Looking forward to driving one of these babies eventually as it'll be my early retirement present, likely and hopefully the last vehicle I'll own in this life, one of the reasons I went with a proven, rock-solid platform and boatloads of support. A long search for a vehicle that will not only serve me well but make me excited to own it every time I look at it has led me here and i can't wait to start loving one of these things.

Thanks for the very impressive forums and we'll be seeing you in here, have learned a lot already which helped me make my choice.

By the way, can anyone recommend good sources for parts/mods/mechanical services for these trucks in and/or around Vancouver, B.C.? Thanks a lot!

Cheers
North Shore Off-Road has a pretty good reputation. They have a couple different locations.

Regarding your new 2019 TRD pro, there will not be a JBL sound system installed. As seen at the Chicago Auto Show, it will have LED Fogs, new Basket Roof Rack and TRD Shocks. The rest of the 2018 features and styling will carry over to the 2019 model.

Congrats on getting your hands on this truck! It is a great ride.

At the dealer today trying to get on the list for a Calvary blue TRDP. Asked the guy when 19's are expected and they still don't know. He said they get little advance info on the 4Runners since they are always high demand, short supply.

After thinking about it, I'm going to ask to put a deposit down on a black 19 TRDP. I have a 15 LE and absolutely love the stereo which is supposed to be the same/updated version of the JBL premium going into the 19 TRDPs. I don't want to compromise and get a lesser stereo just for the Calvary blue. Plus, the fox suspension sounds like a decent upgrade.
Hey Docs,

Not sure where you are based, but in Canada, their will be no Cavalry Blue option available for 2019. It is going to be a Voodoo Blue. Hard to imagine that the USA will still carry a Cavalry.

Any pictures of the 2019 4runner interior? From the exterior is looks like the 4runner finally gets LED fog lights and curious if it gets the new 7" radio screen as well. And if that will be for all models, not just the TRD pro,
For Toyota Canada, there will no be changes to the interior of the TRD Pro. You are correct, the TRDP vehicle will get LED Fog Lights.

Maybe I'll have to get a Tacoma instead then, dang.
