Yes, I know, very close to the same power. Look at the curve, that's the meat and potatoes. 4.0 makes more power at lower RPM than the 3.5 The other big issue is the double OD transmission and the way it's geared. When you run a 33" tire and a 4.88 gear and it's still not enough, there's a problem.

Peak torque is 200 lower in rpm, imperceptible difference and nothing your right foot can’t take care of. I would be very interested in seeing torque curve graphs please provide me your source.

My source is me owning both. Go drive a 3rd gen Tacoma and then come tell me it feels just like a 4R
