Where did you hear there was a new sound system?
TRD Pro gets the JBL with subwoofer for 2020. I had not heard the Off Road got any speaker upgrade. I would like to be proven wrong on this one.

I cant confirm any changes with the stereo, but I remember the 2019 sounding bad, however I was pleasantly surprised with how the 2020 sounds, not that it sounds amazing, just that it was better than I remember. Now take this with a grain of salt as the listening times were months apart, but I may have held off a bit on getting the OEM Audio + system had I waited until I had the car, we'll see how much of an improvement that system is.
If you get the OEM plus, definitely post a review here. I was thinking about going with their new package of just speakers only to start and then add the amp and sub if needed. After I get my ORP I will live with it a awhile and see what it sounds like.
There is a new head unit with an 8 inch display.
I live in San Diego. The inflated dealer prices on a new TRD Off Road Premium at $54,000 kept me away from a new one. The MSRP is only $43k, but the addendum sticker next to the MSRP includes dealer options like nitrogen filled tires for $399 and an unexplained $4000 fee. I found a Silver 2014 Trail premium locally with the slide deck, sunroof, and KDSS for $27k, negotiated for $25k and it's now sitting on my driveway. I just found this site, I will start taking and posting pics soon.

Picked up a white 2020 ORP last thursday. Had a few dealer options already installed.

Just put in my deposit for a 2020 4runner TRD Off Road Premium in Barcelona Red with no KDSS and moon/sun roof. My sales told me he will try to put the order in and if it goes through, it will take 6 months.
It's quite a long time so I am going to continue shopping around other dealers in California but also in other states. If I can get one sooner, I am able to cancel my order.
Also, does anyone know if I can still negotiate price on special order? I was told that I will have to pay sticker price (MSRP). But I am looking to negotiate it and try to get it around 8% MSRP.

Yes, Pacific beach, Lemon Grove and Poway. I even tried purchasing through Costco, best price was $4k above MSRP.

I think they're some pretty common misconceptions on "special orders" of vehicles from Toyota... Some car manufactures you can order specifically what you want from the factory, that order gets built and shipped to your dealer. It is built based on exactly what you spec'd for your purchase. Your Toyota dealer is just requesting an allocation of what you asked for. They aren't rolling out of the factory based on your specific order, you dealer is hoping that the one that you want comes in regionally and will be allocated to them, sometimes they'll make trades for other dealerships as well. (If the dealer doesn't have the vehicle I want, can I place a special order?)
In regards to negotiating price, that is going to be based on the individual dealer. I'm not sure how much "extra" work is involved in requesting an allocation but if they're hunting around and trying to find your specific car maybe that's why they don't want to negotiate on price? Just guessing here...

The dealer specifically told me the stereo was not just upgraded from the screen, but it is a more powerful stereo - take with a grain of salt when that comes from the dealer and I have not confirmed that, but it was said. The sound on the stereo sounds really good, no issues from what I can tell.

White does the exact opposite of what you describe - it actually hides dirt better than any other color - silver is second, and this comes from multiple detailers. White also has the best resale value, and are the easiest car to see in light or dark settings. I love the gray in this car as well. Those are the only 2 colors I entertained. White does require the removing of chrome and silver valances to get the look most want. White SR5 stock looks best as stock and Gray in the ORP - stock looks best, in my opinion. Now, I just can't do that Blue - doesn't look good with black accents, think blue suit with black shoes, and it likely has slowest and lowest resale value.
I have had several Black and Gray cars, and will only buy white from here on out. My last 3 cars have all been white and that color is so forgiving if you skip a few washes - and when it is waxed, it is low maintenance for a very long time.

I have had my white ORP for a little over a week - and it has not been garaged, selling a car to make the room - and I have to be right up against it to see the dirt - and there is certainly dirt. I was going to wash her this weekend, but didn't need to. It still looks like she was just washed yesterday. I did have to spend about $2500 to get new tires, wheels, black valances, and black overlay badges, but I would do that with Gray as well - but now that it is done, she is a SEXY beast. She looks incredible, need to take an updated pic with the badges - they make a HUGE difference. So weird as they are so cheap and flimsy - it just pops with the Black Rims against that beautiful Super White. The Dealer told me they are having a really tough time on the Army Green and they are not ordering any of that color - only on special order.

I just upgraded my iphone 6 to an 11 this weekend, and suddenly the calls started doing exactly what you described. It was fine with the iphone 6 - so I am thinking this is a software issue. Another 2020 owner on the other forum was experiencing the same thing and is encouraging everyone to email Toyota on this. It is an issue it seems, I have to unplug from car play to make a call via bluetooth - which works fine. Annoying for sure, but something that can get worked. I just updated the ios 13 to 13.1.2 - not sure if that will solve anything - not holding my breath.
My thoughts exactly. I was back and forth with SW and MGM and ultimately decided that with the silver trim and chrome it looked too fancy to be a mean machine. That's why I settled on MGM. Picked her up last week.

I was aware of this, but I'm looking for confirmation. If someone ordered a T4R with an unusual mixture of accessories/packages, it would probably be hard to find such a vehicle. But what if you did the opposite and ordered one with literally zero options and accessories? Isn't that what every T4R is before stuff starts getting added to it? Wouldn't that make it easier to get a hold of?
I'm interested in a 2020 TRD-OR (non premium), and I don't want anything added to it. No roof cross bars, no floor mats, and no running boards. I'll add all that stuff myself after I buy it. The only thing I might get is KDSS, but I won't decide on that until I drive one with & without it back to back, which I haven't been able to do yet.
Good idea to drive back to back with and without KDSS. Be sure to take it through conditions that you’ll actually notice the difference. For me, there was little noticeable difference on normal straight roads and stop and go. The body roll and nose dive on non-KDSS really reared it’s ugly head when I was going down a steep grade around a corner. One slight tap of the brake and wow! Not a comfortable feeling. KDSS on that same stretch of road was no problem.
For your options, you can likely get a combination of what you want but in some regions it may be harder to find than others. Call around to different cities or states to see what they have on allocation. You might need to travel to pick it up, or see if your dealer can trade the allocation in transit (before it hits the other dealer). There are factory options such as moon roof and KDSS, and then there are port-installed options that go on when it hits the USA port. Port options can be changed up until the day it hits port. After that there’s no changing your options. Port options include roof rack cross bars, door edge guards, floor mats, running boards, predator tube steps, chrome exhaust tip, and a whole lot of other things.
I put a deposit down with my dealer and asked for no port options. I wanted KDSS and moonroof but that was it. They found an allocation with the factory options I wanted, but it had a bunch of port options. The sales manager I worked with told me the port options were not negotiable-take it or leave it. Total BS. I called the sales department manager the next day and he helped me out by removing all the port options. Then you just have to wait, but this way you can ensure you get what you want WITHOUT insanely marked-up addendums (like lifts, tires, or other crap we want to do ourselves, or don’t want at all)

I think it might be more an Apple thing. My XS is on 13.1.2 and it has been awfully crackly while taking on the phone itself. Perhaps the newest iOS has a few flaws...
