If you’re interested in the TRD Pro/heritage blacked out front grill, you’ll need to wait for the aftermarket producers to catch up to the 2020MY changes or order OEM parts.

There are new part numbers for the following pieces.

TOPZ323-35058 - TRD Pro grille garnish - $467.55

TOPZ327-35056 - TRD Pro upper grille mesh - $184.45

Man, I thought the Valances were spendy, this is rough. Toyota does love their little side hustle don't they?

If you have a dremel or other cutting tool and maybe some fine sand paper, this part could be easily cut around the TSS sensor and made to fit properly. $125 with free shipping. Or there’s the TSO option, likely needing the same cut, for $380. Both much better than the $700 OEM route.

I ordered both parts from McGeorge Toyota for $425, was around $112 less than the 2014-2019 setup. They are on back order and will ship once they arrive, guess i'm driving without an upper radiator grille and grille surround for a while.

White does the exact opposite of what you describe - it actually hides dirt better than any other color - silver is second, and this comes from multiple detailers. White also has the best resale value, and are the easiest car to see in light or dark settings. I love the gray in this car as well. Those are the only 2 colors I entertained. White does require the removing of chrome and silver valances to get the look most want. White SR5 stock looks best as stock and Gray in the ORP - stock looks best, in my opinion. Now, I just can't do that Blue - doesn't look good with black accents, think blue suit with black shoes, and it likely has slowest and lowest resale value.

I have had several Black and Gray cars, and will only buy white from here on out. My last 3 cars have all been white and that color is so forgiving if you skip a few washes - and when it is waxed, it is low maintenance for a very long time.

My thoughts exactly. I was back and forth with SW and MGM and ultimately decided that with the silver trim and chrome it looked too fancy to be a mean machine. That's why I settled on MGM. Picked her up last week.

I think they're some pretty common misconceptions on "special orders" of vehicles from Toyota... Some car manufactures you can order specifically what you want from the factory, that order gets built and shipped to your dealer. It is built based on exactly what you spec'd for your purchase. Your Toyota dealer is just requesting an allocation of what you asked for. They aren't rolling out of the factory based on your specific order, you dealer is hoping that the one that you want comes in regionally and will be allocated to them, sometimes they'll make trades for other dealerships as well. (If the dealer doesn't have the vehicle I want, can I place a special order?)

In regards to negotiating price, that is going to be based on the individual dealer. I'm not sure how much "extra" work is involved in requesting an allocation but if they're hunting around and trying to find your specific car maybe that's why they don't want to negotiate on price? Just guessing here...

That's a good point and what I assumed when they said I could make a "special order". My sales guy even told me that he can try to allocate one with my specifications from the factory. Hopefully, I can find one at another dealer so that I can negotiate.

I have down payment, excellent credit and plan on flying out to pick up the car and driving back. If so, how would I go about it? Does anyone have experience with this?

I do not have experience with this but I believe it was in the 2020 TRD Pro thread someone described the process. In California you need to register it with CA DMV within 30 days of purchase or pay a penalty, and you do have to get it smogged even though it's brand new. :wtf:

I've done this before and it was a hassle. You have 20 days to register it or you get additional fines and fees.

You have to have the bill of sale as well as MSO (Manufacture Statement of Origin) from the dealer which could take longer than the 20 days to receive. So you have to go to the DMV twice to get the paperwork done. First time, To register and pay taxes it in California within the 20 day period so there are no fines. Then potentially a second time to submit the MSO / Bill of sale so you can get the title.

The only good thing is you get your plates and tags right when you register it rather waiting for it to be mailed.

But it could be well worth it if you can get a huge discount - I did with the Subaru I bought in Colorado and had shipped here.

I see your in LA - I bought my 2020 at invoice price up here in NorCal (2 weeks ago) at AutoNation Hayward Toyota via Costco I know another member from OC did the same as well basically same time I did.

Canada we just got the SR5 and TRD Off Road - 2 options basically with the heated seats and moon roof. Works well since I wanted all the prem features. Dealer just jacked a red one from Edmonton and they got the white one instead. Easier for Toyota given the smaller market up here. No pull out rear cargo tray and you're screwed if you dont want the moon roof because of your height.

Also sounds like you guys get better deals. Dealer told me $5000 margin - I tend to believe him based on the circumstance.

First time I saw that combo I think I drooled on the floor. Ha! Yet after awhile it just looks to me like too much gray. Black wheels, black valances, black grille, black badges. Back in black! My personal preference. The matte gray wheels do look amazing!

I don't mind the TRD Off Road Wheels. I think they look classy while the PRO looks more metal. :drummer:

2020 Barcelona Red

Seems like they haven’t yet broken out the BR paint for the 4Runners this year.

MGMs are everywhere, SW and MBM to a lesser extent. Silver and NB are scarce. BR is non-existent so far.

There are a few dealerships with BR across the country but haven't seen any for California. My guess is that they could possibly save it for the venture trim.

Local dealership that’s getting my MGM in has a BR on the lot...have to admit, that was my next color choice, but my mother-in-law just got a Lexus RX in that color...so...:frusty:

Canadians can’t even get Ventures in BR or NB.

My dealer has a BR on the lot: a 2019 SR5!
