I definitely like the matte Gray Pro Wheels. I just like the Black ones better, for almost any color. I think that contrast just looks so good - that Gray with black accents is awesome. At one point I was going to grab a 4 Door Wrangler, in Gray and all Black - then I wised up and went with the 4Runner. I just added the black overlays, and I think I am now done for awhile. Everything but that damn chrome mustache is now all black. Thinking of taking some 3m auto vinyl tape to black out the stache. Will shoot some pics tomorrow in the light. Would like to get the speed booster, but waiting a bit to break in the engine and to just get a feel for the car before I go there. Absolutely loving my black TRD Pro Wheels. Just picked up some matte cleaner and detailer from the Chemical Guys to keep them all perty.

Yeah, I might go that route. I have never used it, but I have a good friend that has done a lot of plastidip on his Jeep - may have to have him cruise over and help me out - that would look really nice. If someone doesn't comes up with a plastic overlay strip for the stache soon, I will be forced to take matters into my own hands. I can live with it for now though.
 
As an owner of a BR 5th gen, I love this color more and more every day. I've had the vehicle for over two years now since new and I love the way the color shifts in the light and shadows. You get this really bright iridescent red in the direct sun and in the shadows you get this deep ruby red similar to the Sunfire Red Pearl of yesteryear. Plus we are definitely in the minority I believe. At least I see the least amount of them, although ymmv.

BR seems to bring up the rear in popularity polls, and I rarely see any in the wild. That puts it exactly where I want it. But that might be why they are last to populate the supply chain. For now, it seems neither love nor money could get you a 2020 BR in California.

I went to my dealer in SoCal and the time to allocate a BR from factory is 6+ months. Other dealers around the country like in Idaho, Iowa, Colorado and Florida are getting BR if you are willing to travel that far to get one. Not even Arizona, Oregon, Washington or Nevada seem to have. I’ll consider calling Nevada and Arizona to see if they’re going to allocate some in the near future. If I hear anything, I will notify this thread for whoever is interested.
 
Question:

Has anyone seen the stock Dunlop GrandTrek tires on the Black TRD wheels?

If you have, did they look weird? I couldn't find a picture anywhere.

The reason I am asking is I would prefer not to have to purchase new tires but I would also prefer not to look like an idiot with that combo. :)

Work out a deal with the dealer...I didn’t want the Dunlop or Bridgestones on mine, so they are swapping them for Nittos when it arrives in a week or so. Cost will depend on what it arrives with from port, but won’t be much difference and at this point I don’t really care.

I've thrown myself into the den of TrueCar wolves in hopes of getting a line on a 2020 ORP in Barcelona Red here in CA.

I have the YouMail app installed on my phone, so that should shield me well.

But how many calls am I going to get from dealers keen to sell me something I'm not going too buy? 2019 SR5 in MGM? No. No. And No.

TrueCar results T+1 day...
A few offers from local dealers on 4Runners with varying degrees of of failing to match my vehicle request.

Some for 2019 ORPs in the wrong color.

Some for 2020 ORPs in the wrong color. Getting warmer.

Attempts to phone me; messages were left to “please call back”.

Some offers made via text.

The most aggressive barrage has been from a dealership I have no intent on doing business with, so I have unsubscribed from them as much as possible.

Two local dealerships didn’t bite, so I sent them messages via their web pages. Both contacted me.

No one around has what I’m looking for. So at this point, I’m just asking them how we go about snaring a vehicle that meets my requirements.

My specific requirements have been communicated to all the dealerships I’m willing to work with.

All of them want to talk about it further.

Seems like it could take some time... I can live with that.

Also: not all dealerships know what you mean when you refer to a

2020 4Runner TRD ORP

They think you might have misspelled Pro or that you’re looking for an Off Road.

To avoid confusion, state it as Off Road Premium.

Does anyone know if Sprint Booster will work fine with the 2020’s? Was concerned about the automatic cruise control maybe not playing well with it.

Dealer just asked me what a TRD ORP was.

Was I wrong to respond,

“ORP = Off Road Premium. It’s one of the trims available on the 4Runner.

The others are SR5, SR5 Premium, Off Road, Limited, Nightshade, and Pro.

Let me know if you have any further questions about 4Runners.”?
