2020 aftermarket remote start install

I just picked up my 2020 TRD ORP on Saturday and my fiances only question was, "does it have remote start." Well sadly the answer to that was NO. Before I traded in my 2008 I declined to remove the remote start from that. So it is the same system I used it in for the past 2 years.

Only having the truck for 3 days let to a lot of unknown. I didn't see many videos that had shown what I wanted, so a lot of this was trial and error. I didn't record the tear down because I had no clue what I was doing and my camera was dead. Not knowing what I was doing and recording it would have let to a lot of cussing and screaming, plus more frustration on my end. This is my first time uploading a video and I hope it helps. Definitely bookmarking this. Just picked up my ORP Saturday too, and this will be first on my to-do list!

Do you have recommendations on what system to go with, or resources to look at? I know next to nothing about remote start, and I've been having trouble finding specific forums dedicated to it.

I posted links to what I bought in the description of the video, no affiliation just what I found cheapest. I have only used compustar systems. There is a seller on eBay that will bundle a system for you. I can look into it more when I get home.

Oh nice, yeah, I see that now. I'm not sure if I want to use the factory remote or a 3rd party remote. The range would be a big benefit, but I also am not in love with having to carry around another fob.

You can use the factory remote without any addons, at least to my knowledge. I have one set of keys that I carry the fob on and the other I just have my regular one. I only use it when I go to work and it freezing out.

This is the seller I used for the past 3 I purchased. Same module, different remote. I have never used that, nor know the cost but that drone kit is a cell phone interface, no fob needed.
