I have a 2020 Offroad Premium. My battery is already testing as poor and needs to be replaced soon. I'm shopping around for one now, but wondering if anyone knows if the 4Runner needs to be reprogrammed after the battery is replaced? The reason I ask is, my wife has a Ford Escape and it has a Battery Monitor system on it. We found out the hard way that a mechanic needed to reprogram the car to tell it that a new battery was installed. Since we didn't, the alternator basically cooked the battery thinking it was 5 years old and it needed replacement again after a year. I guess for a second question, do these vehicles use AGM or any other specific technology?
