Battery for 05 V8

Costco has 2 different Interstate batteries available for my 4runner. One has, I think, 10 amps more than the one I bought. Just had to replace it after only 2 years and I’m wondering if I might have needed the higher cold cranking amp one? Can find any specifics online using my VIN.

I get the longest life out of the Toyota Tru Start 84 month group 27 for my '04 V8. The OEM Panasonic lasted until 2015 but I still use it for other things; holds a 75% charge. I replaced it with a 84 month Tru Start and I still have that one but bought a new Tru Start in December of 24. I don't think you can get better than the Tru Start. My T4R lives outside.

Stick with the lead acid battery, not the AGM. Unless you're willing to do a diode mod

Agree with this advice. BTW the diode mod is super easy and only takes five minutes, you just have to square file a tiny bit of plastic off (buy two in case you file wrong).
